Let’s make some introduces

It’s time to bring the babies home! I selected my kittens about a week ago and I think they’re precious and adorable.
I haven’t named them yet, I’m hoping to do that today! For now I’ll call them “Femalekit” and “Malekit”, respectively.
My female has a darker “greeny” brown than my male, who has a vibrant red coat. I like to name my Havana Browns after chocolates so… I dunno, I guess we’ll see.
Will they get along?

Because I’m terrible at keep track of my petz appearances, genders, names, etc. (see also: memory problems on my part) I’ve decided to give them bows to make keeping track easier for me. Malekit is wearing a white bow tie and Femalekit is wearing a large pink bow on her head. Very simple! I’m also happy to report that they adore each other. I don’t know yet if they’re going to produce any kittens (though that is the goal) but I guess we’ll just have to see!
Get to know them!
After feeding time, it was time to get to know my new kittens. Maybe a name for each of them would jump out to me.

I’m happy to report that they both don’t seem particularly picky when it comes to their food, but I wonder if the same is true for any of the ball-type toys. So far, our little girl seems most interested in the yellow circus ball and the male is… well, he’s more interested in tackling his little play mate. It’s so cute! I’m sure a sure way to get them to pay attention to toys is using the auto-roller ball, but that feels like cheating.
In general, they seem much more interested in each other than they do in any toys, so maybe I’ll get some one-on-one time with them and figure out their favorites later. We’ll just have to see!
I’m still a little stumped for names so maybe we need to try something else…
Sing, sing a song…

Naturally, as I was trying to think of what I could do next to learn more about the kittens, they decided to start singing to each other instead. It was so cute that I decided to leave them alone for a little bit.
As I let them play I started thinking of names I could give the kittens. I’m thinking Velvet would be a good name for the male, and as for the female, I think Almond would be good for her. Sticking with the chocolate theme, I think their show names could be AngryKitten’s Red Velvet and AngryKitten’s Chocolate Covered Almond. That might just be my stomach thinking, but I think it’s appropriate!
Time for a nap

After a while, the kittens decided to take a nap, so I put some pillows beside each other and introduced them to the kittens. They fell asleep almost immediately. I have to say, I LOVE Almond’s sleeping position. I don’t know if the way they sleep says anything about their personalities, but she just looked so comfy and goofy, I adore it.
Once they were up, it was time to see how’d they’d pose.

I’m relieved to say that it didn’t take long to get both kittens to throw me poses. They’re so small it’s hard for me to check their alignment, but the most important thing is that it didn’t feel like fighting tooth and nail for them to work. I’ve had catz like that and… uh.
I hope you enjoyed this update! It was a lot of fun spending time with my new show kittens. I hope I’ll have more time for the challenge soon!
