Before we begin, I want to direct you to the new, official location for the Creatures Community Quilt. If you’d like to share this project with your friends, be sure to send them the following link:

I’m up to my eyeballs in old blog posts that I hadn’t gotten around to reading yet, mostly because I didn’t know so many blogs existed until recently. So far, I’ve read all of The Realm, Mobula Ray, most of Discover Albia, and I’m caught up to early 2012 in The Arch. I’ve also read all of Naturing::Nurturing and most of the now-inactive, smaller blogs available on Amaikokonut’s Blog List. I’ve been reading so much that I’m worried I’ll run out of material soon, and I’m hungry for more! Thank goodness Chip’s new blog The Trials of Chip the Third has arrived. It’s good stuff, too! Go check it out.
That said, all the reading I’ve been doing has distracted me from working on my own blog and I’m back to rectify that. If you have a blog that you’d like to recommend or if you’ve got a blog yourself, let me know in the comments so that I can read still more! If you want to start, but don’t have a clue what to post first, keep reading on.
I have a challenge for all bloggers but don’t worry! It’s a very simple challenge and shouldn’t take especially long. All bloggers, old, new and those of you who just want to get started are welcome to participate.
In an exchange with Jessica, I thought we could talk about our experiences as bloggers. That is a good start, but why not make it more inclusive and encourage more members to start their own blogs? Instead, I’ve made a list of prompts for you to choose from. Below each prompt, I’ve included a list of things to consider as you write. You don’t need to answer all the questions! They’re just there as a guide. Once you’ve finished responding to a prompt, leave a link to your new post in the comments so that others can read what you wrote!

Reader Submitted Questions
– Who are some of your most memorable Creatures, either from your blog or a personal world? – KittyTikara
– What resources have been most useful to you when coming to grips with blogging? – Malkin
– What I wish I knew when I was starting out blogging: – Malkin
That’s all I have for now! Now get out there and get writing! There’s no deadline – this is just meant to encourage some activity in the community.
I feel bad for anyone who finds my blog now and wants to catch up… There are so many posts! I’m glad you’ve mostly gone through it, though I imagine that’s been like reading a rather silly novel. Ha!
I completed this challenge, although I didn’t answer every question. Hopefully this will get others interested in responding, too! These prompts made me think about some things more than I thought, so thank you for putting this list together. I may answer more in another post, but for now, you can see my responses here:

You are going to take on your own challenge, right? I’ve read Jessica’s and I’m really curious what your blogging experiences have been like. The two blog posts got me think about my own experiences and I have a question for you: Who are some of your most memorable Creatures, either from your blog or a personal world?
For me it’s a tie between Anai and Pudding. Pudding was my favorite beekeeper Norn from C1. He tried befriending the bees for hours before learning his lesson. He later moved into the lighthouse to keep watch over it. Despite the occasional visitor, and me bringing him cheese ever so often, he never moved from that lighthouse and never mated.
Then there’s Anai. She was a part of one of the many Stinger wolfling runs I ran while testing the genome. I randomly picked one of the babies to raise for a bit, and she grew really attached to the hand. So attached in fact that she decided she loved me. Like a good hand, I put her back in the wolfling run, not expecting her to live. Not only did she survive, but she died of old age (quite a feat for the longer-lived Stinger Norns). Before she died, I found her again and she told me she loved me. My heart melted and the Anai Stinger Norns got their name.
Of course I’ll be taking my own challenge. 🙂 I’m actually working on the post and I’ve also added your question to the challenge.
Pudding sounds like an interesting little guy. I don’t often have norns that settle in one spot for long periods, but I can imagine that would make his life nice and predictable. It’d be nice if some of my norns would just settle down once in a while (without getting sick) so I could tend to the others. Anai sounds a lot like Five Cheese, one of my favorite norns. 🙂
Hey Kezune. Nice to know people are still reading my blog, considering I haven’t been as active as I’d like to be.
I’m currently snowed under with work, but once I’m caught up and things calm down a little I plan on putting together a video course on how to code CAOS for C3/DS. Hopefully that’ll be some interesting content for you and others 😉
If I can find some time to get back into writing my Creatures stories I’d love to upload a chapter or so at a time, similar to how Chip has been doing things. That’ll be a stretch project, but I would love to finish some of those stories.
As I say, incredibly busy right now. But I’m hoping in about a month I should be on top of things enough to get back to some Creatures stuff.
That would be great! I’ve gotten caught up to all of your posts and would love to see more. 🙂
One thing I’d like to know is what resources have been most useful to you when coming to grips with blogging?
Also ‘What I wish I knew when I was starting out blogging:’. 🙂
I’ve added both of your questions to the list and I’ll try to answer them when I take on this challenge. 😀
