bandicam 2015-02-09 11-55-15-143 copySynergy spent all of her time in the corridors of the Shee Ark now. She still ate when she was hungry and still smiled broadly when all of her needs were met.

Though she did make a few trips here and there, she always seemed to come here, to this elevator. I wasn’t able to watch her very closely, but I did wonder if there was some significance in this place for her.

bandicam 2015-02-09 12-01-54-249 copySolitary norns were starting to crop up more frequently. Logic complained of loneliness but hadn’t moved away from the plums since he was a baby. I guess, despite them all having very similar genomes, some still had their preferences. Perhaps some just didn’t like the prospect of being around norns that they strongly disliked? Who knew. It’s not as though I’d be able to ask.

Come to think of it, nearly all of the norns seemed to like being around others and even made small groups with each other. Chang and Adelphos spent most of their time together, Daedalus and Kerplunk had become friends and Drake didn’t move around much, but he liked a lot of norns. I guess he figured lying in the middle of the Norn Terrarium made it easy for him to talk to everyone and every once in a while, an apple would fall down for him to eat anyway.

New World, Same Creatures (and then some)

bandicam 2015-02-06 23-24-28-394 copyAt least, all but Veronica. When I’d tried to install a canopy bridge in the previous world, Veronica glitched out and would fly sideways across the screen. I tried to save her by exporting her but when I tried to import her, she only continued to float and never appeared on the Observation Kit.

As sort of a consolation (for myself) I went ahead and imported Clarise’s other babies. I will play with Nova Subterra more, but for now, I have some little ones to attend to. In future, all Gen 1 creatures will have Nova Subterra based genes.

bandicam 2015-02-06 23-22-32-258 copyThe first to join us is Clarity, Clarise and Jonathan’s first daughter. She looks a bit like she’s wearing green pants and has a strong resemblance to her brother Donny.

Like the others, she immediately set off slapping and kissing. Now, everyone seemed to mingle and there were no serious fights. Seeing everyone fed and rested for once was a pleasant change and I felt comfortable adding another baby.

bandicam 2015-02-06 23-26-59-091 copyThis little lady, I’ve named Treefrog. I really chose the name because of her greener colors. While Clarity shares more common sprites with their brother, Treefrog matchis his color much more closely.

There was still quite a lot of kissing going on and I almost expected Donny and Jenny to have their own egg but it didn’t happen. After just a few minutes, I added the next baby.

bandicam 2015-02-06 23-29-38-345 copyJonathan and Clarise had another son! Jonathan in particular seems very pleased for some reason and, naturally, produced another egg after seeing one of his previous offspring.

In fact, this meant he had two eggs in the world waiting to hatch now! I already had a lot of norns on my hands, but I still wanted to introduce the last of the old babies to the new world before calling it a day.

bandicam 2015-02-06 23-32-28-162 copyBefore hatching Clarise’s two unhatched eggs, I imported their last offspring from the previous world, Kimberly. Finally, I could be satisfied that everyone had joined us. I added the bridges as well (except the canopy bridge) and tried to assure myself that everyone was relatively safe. Anything they did now would be their own faults. 😛

That said, the power ups were all inaccessible to me again and I couldn’t stray far from where my norns actually were. Rather than cheat in the game state controller, I decided to see whether the norns would decide to press the powerups themselves. I didn’t think it likely, but there was no harm in waiting to see.

What a Lousy Day I Had!

Since starting my YouTube channel, I’ve had to find ways to make time for recording, editing and to write for this blog. I love doing all of those things but there are times when some of my hobbies become so challenging that they become frustrating. For example, the day I’m writing this, I recorded 5 episodes and none of them were usable. Two due to technical difficulties and the other three because of low energy and just bad quality. Finally, I pulled through and succeeded.

Unfortunately, Aidan was so old, it seemed like I wouldn’t be able to enjoy his presence as much as I’d hoped. Still, he’d be able to go up to Silicon Heaven and enjoy life with his old companions Lydia and Opal.

His passing away would also mean that another female would be able to join us, which was at least a small consolation for his inevitable passing. I couldn’t remember what genders the stored babies were, but it seemed like as good a chance as any for me to introduce some Generation 1 girl to the scene.

bandicam 2015-02-08 22-36-40-330 copyI poked around the world and noticed that all the younger boys were napping – only Bobby and Aidan seemed interested in exploring in their old age and Cassy was fascinated by old Bobby – she hardly left his side and he never left her sight! I’d also (re)installed Jessica of Discover Albia’s sprite and body data fix and the edits seemed to hold this time. There were still some glitches here and there, largely due to some issues with this game running on my particular system (64 bit? Too new a Windows?) but there was a definite improvement in the sprites. The best guess I had was that the graphics just didn’t get along well on my computer in the first place.

His health always seemed high, but I doubted he’d impress any female norns with that kind of lethargy. Then again, all it would take is a broody female norn passing by for him to have any offspring. Creatures are funny that way!

Crowded!

bandicam 2015-02-07 23-40-48-321 copyAfter moving literally everyone into the Norn Terrarium, there were four more pregnancies and much more “X like Y” and “A dislike B” conversations. There was a way to fix these loops but I didn’t have them installed. In future, I will have them but for now, the creatures were naturally very chatty.

Drake in particular didn’t seem very fond of his fellow creature and started saying “drake hate norn”. I have no idea who he was thinking of, but many other creatures seemed to like him very much! Strange, that.

bandicam 2015-02-07 23-43-54-028 copySoon enough, my counter ran out and I had to add another creature. This time, Anai joined us. Unfortunately, Anai was the first to pass away and died in the volcano as a baby during the live event. This time, she should live a much more fulfilling life.

Many of the other norns seemed most content to just rest, though. Synergy was still taken in by wanderlust and strayed away from the pack, enjoying the other rooms on the ship. Drake hardly moved from his perch in the Norn terrarium and still others huddled together and complained and admired each other.
