Lydia’s Had a Rough Day

bandicam 2014-12-01 22-29-19-535 copyBobby watched movies with the projector, Babs played in the garden, Lydia hung around on the island, Gavin and Aidan played with a ball together and Opal was above the submarine, headed for the island. Soon, somehow, Lydia, Aidan, Gavin and Opal all managed to get on said submarine and during one of the most crowded, miserable rides ever, Lydia managed to get pregnant.bandicam 2014-12-01 22-36-17-198 copyNorns will be norns, I suppose.

bandicam 2014-12-01 22-43-03-011 copyShe didn’t look a bit pleased when she finally got off of the sub, though. I also didn’t have any idea who the father was! I suspect it was Gavin but I won’t know for sure for a little while.

I wasn’t sure whether I wanted to hatch this egg right away or not. I was feeling pretty happy with a group of 6 and didn’t really want to go any higher than that just yet. Beside that, I’d like to have a small clutch of eggs to hang on to just in case disaster strikes. Honestly, I’m surprised I haven’t been hit with one of Albia’s famous plagues yet. In fact, the only problems I’ve had have been with keeping Lydia and Opal’s health up after their pregnancies. Their life force inevitably dips after each egg. Once they were both in ok shape again, I made my rounds.

bandicam 2014-12-01 22-57-27-956 copySince he’s (basically) found a land of honey, you’d think he’d be more excited, wouldn’t you? Well, he may have been stung before I made my way to him but you never know.

bandicam 2014-12-01 23-01-44-024 copyLydia on the other hand needed special emergency care. She wasn’t sick, instead I think she was being mercilessly slapped! I had Grendel Friendly on but the Grendel, Opal and Gavin were all there.

It’s really anyone’s guess who the mad slapper was. Her health dipped as low as 34% but a load of carrots and cheese got her fixed right up. In her happy picture there, she’s smiling and on the way to recovery with 50% health. Good thing I was watching the Observation Kit.

bandicam 2014-12-01 22-00-03-645 copyBobby was born last time and now, Opal is pregnant with another egg! It didn’t take much encouraging, either. I just led Gavin to the kitchen to meet with Opal and they decided on their own to make an egg. I didn’t have to say a thing! don’t mind the 7 there, it quickly dropped to 1 and her pregnancy continued as normal.

They even continued to kiss for a lot of Opal’s pregnancy. It was a struggle to get her separated so that she could eat – as with all my females so far, her pregnancy was a little tough on her and she needed to eat. Once she finally did it, I was satisfied to let her roam as she pleased. I just wished norns didn’t keep trying to eat the sad little carrot sprouts rather than the full vegetable – it didn’t seem to do them any good to try to eat the little things.

bandicam 2014-12-01 22-07-22-767 copySpeaking of little things, Opal finally laid this little egg in the herb garden. She sampled some plants while she waited for her egg to arrive and I quickly moved it to the kitchen. Since Bobby was old enough already, I decided to let this little egg hatch.

Out popped Babs. bandicam 2014-12-01 22-13-34-627 copyThank goodness we have a girl this time! So convenient, really. I hadn’t even bothered to check her genes before deciding to let her hatch. Once she did hatch, they were open season.

Emitters

Most norns have an emitter that causes them to get lonely over time. In Babs, she gets Fearful! How awful! I imagine she’ll want to spend a lot of time with other norns.

Rather than producing Adrenaline when she feels pain, Bab’s body will actually produce Alcohol! How curious! I’m curious to see what this turns into.

Reactions

In Babs, feeling Tired, Sleepy or Bored will not produce any punishment. She also has a new “blank” reaction where Nothing becomes nothing. This opens the door for some interesting mutations.

Stimuli

She will also experience more Crowdedness from being patted by another creature but she will not gain SexDrive.

Bobby!

bandicam 2014-12-01 11-07-22-635 copySick of Species? Well, I’m not, but I figure you might be sick of reading about it. So let’s go back to Albia, shall we?

When I arrived, this little egg was ready and waiting to hatch. I had to scoop it up before it had the opportunity, though! I still had to make my rounds and feed the other norns, especially Lydia who’d just given birth to this egg.

I popped it into the incubator and soon I had a new little friend.

bandicam 2014-12-01 11-12-27-107 copyAnother boy! His name is Bobby. At first, I was worried he was stuck like Gavin was but my fears were unfounded. He only took some coaxing with a ball to get moving but once he was up, he wouldn’t hold still!

I did manage to teach him all of the computer words and a few nouns before he was up and at ’em. Once he was fed, I took some time to look at his genes.

Reactions

Normally, NFP + NFP- would give 1 reward from birth. In Bobby, he doesn’t get the reward until he’s reached the Adolescent stage.

He also has a new “blank” reaction which is None+None = None+None.

With that settled, it was time to make my rounds.

bandicam 2014-12-01 12-24-12-135 copyHe spent most of his time looking around at things inside of the house’s computer room and kitchen but Opal managed to get him down with a lift. She sipped coffee and play with the ball with us.

I had to start thinking about a mate for him, though. With two fertile females and three males, the ratio was just a little off. I could hold off on adding a new female since Opal was still very young but it’s important to plan for the future.

Albia, my Albia

bandicam 2014-11-28 15-54-34-078 copyIt had been a while since I last checked on my Creatures 1 world. With my husband’s recent homecoming and Thanksgiving, I didn’t have much time at all for my computer at all!

Lydia, Aidan, Gavin and Opal were all separated from each other but otherwise very happy. Watching them reminded me a bit of a cozy Summer’s day spent napping in front of a fan.

The monotony was broken up a little when Lydia met up with our Grendel friend, though. It’s always so nice to see smiling faces for once! After their ride back and forth beneath the garden, Lydia and the grendel took a nap and I took the opportunity to check the other creatures.

bandicam 2014-11-28 16-00-12-330 copyGavin explored the lighthouse and Opal ate and played in the garden. Aidan seemed most interested in exploring the albian seas. When he made it to the swamp, he seemed depressed, but I brought Lydia over to cheer him up. Instead, she slapped him but they kisspopped and made another egg! Amazing how Norns work.

As I waited for the egg to arrive, Opal made friends with Lydia. I can just hope that she’s interested in pregnancy and becomes the next mother in our little world. I tidied up the honey pots while I waited and beside some occasional slapping everything was otherwise peaceful. Before long, a little red and yellow egg was laid and I used the Egg Collector to move it to the kitchen. Lydia was given a carrot to aid in her recovery and I was soon able to make my rounds again.
