Though I managed to save the last baby, Valerie was still pregnant. I saved this baby as well though I thought it might be identical to the last baby. It seemed like this world was giving up again and it was time to create a new one.

I opened the old world, exported Grentilda and Tanner and waited for Valerie to lay this egg, which I would have to destroy with the old world. Once she had, she was exported and it was time to start from scratch.

I had Grentilda lead the world so I could apply some cobs and then it was time to bring in Valerie and Tanner again.

Grentilda waited til Valerie led the way out of the house but soon, the two ladies were out and exploring Albia. Tanner, on the other hand, was busy napping on the second floor of the house. They were both hungry on import so it was time to eat. Tanner ate the first time I asked but Valerie required some nagging and a quick slap. They were both 7 hours, 29 minutes old so I figured I could at least try to keep them healthy. They’ve both given me some serious scares already and I could do without any more.

Leave it to Valerie to give me hope for the future, though. She kept flashing me smiles from inside the submarine. I think she was happy to be on an adventure in a more stable Albia. Since she wasn’t sick or pregnant, I also knew that she was at least comfortable.

Tanner, on the other hand, was less than reassuring.

This frowning boy refused to eat anything. He wouldn’t eat food, he wouldn’t eat herbs and even when he got it in his head to, he wouldn’t eat weeds. I had to give up on him for a little while to feed Valerie, who ate willingly. Soon, it was back to Tanner, though. Will he eat? I don’t know, but I have a plan.

When I returned to Albia to check on my C1 world, I found Grenty bored and hungry near the house. I fed her, gave her some toys and she made herself comfortable. She didn’t seem interested in travelling beyond the garden and that was fine by me.

Tanner and Valerie on the other hand were far from the house. Tanner stayed by the clock in the tree and Valerie stayed underground by the island. They were both having trouble eating but as their healths were still over 70, I was happy to give them some independence.

It wasn’t long til I had to force feed Tanner but otherwise, it was a hot lazy day, even in Albia.

Grentilda was tired but she did a great job of keeping herself healthy. For a while, I was even able to browse CCaves and comfortably leave the game running. I felt like I did an alright job raising these guys.

Because I had so much time I decided to hatch their third egg and was faced with a problem. I had to get them breeding again.

I was worried they wouldn’t have enough time for children because they were 7 hours old each now. After trapping them and filling them with food, though, they were finally pregnant again.

Valerie seemed so happy and I soon learned why! I won’t spoil the news but needless to say, I don’t have to pester these two for any more eggs.

Not long after I exported the baby, the game crashed. Oh dear. Find out whether everything survived next time!

As if the last scare wasn’t bad enough, Valerie had to start off today by sampling weeds. Oh well. At least the ugly tomato was harmless and I could take the chance to scold her for eating a weed.

She and Tanner still tried to make babies so I still had that to hold on to. They stuck together for a while and ate and seemed pretty happy so I felt safe leaving them alone for a little while.

I took this chance to check on the grendel and found that he was starving and bored but that he still seemed content to rest on the island. It turned out he was stuck so I exported him and imported him back into the game to find that he was about to pass away anyway. Poor guy. :C

Naturally, I took this opportunity to introduce Grentilda, a C1 Grendel based on my first creatchi, Grentilda at CCaves.com. She was graciously created by Grendel Man.

Once she was situated, I left her on her own. Grendels seem to do a much better job of taking care of themselves than norns, after all. Speaking of, when I returned to them, they’d stopped eating and Tanner’s health dropped into the upper 60s. I had to separate them as far as sending Valerie to the island before Tanner would finally eat something. Unfortunately, separation meant they were less likely to make another baby. We’ll see how things turn out, though.

Goodness do I hate seeing Valerie micronapping.

I forced a lot of food into her belly and she finally had a restful sleep. Her health still steadily dropped and I braced myself for the worse. 72, 69, 61… It just kept going down.

Suddenly, and out of nowhere, her status flicked back to healthy and her health ticked up to 62%. It didn’t take long for her health to rise back up to 76% and I felt comfortable leaving her on her own again.

I lead them to each other and now I have an egg on the way. Relax, that 45 there changed to a 1 after I got the pregnancy notification.

With Valerie finally well and with her egg on the way, I could relax a little. Her health dropped down to 60 again because she wouldn’t eat, but at least she wasn’t being attacked by bacteria. Off to check on our grendel!

As Valerie laid her red and yellow egg, our grendel friend stared off into blue sky. I wasn’t sure what he was thinking about but one thing’s certain. This Grendel knows how to relax.

Valerie had another trick up her sleeve to get me panicking again. After she laid her egg, she continued to refuse to eat. Her health droped to 47% as I strugged to get her to eat anything. No matter what, she wouldn’t comply.

I decided to try something new. First, I fed her a Morning Glory from the Health Kit and suddenly, she was eating everything in sight. Maybe she needed something new to try? In any case, she was finally well again and her health had reached a safe 76%.

Would it be smooth sailing from here? Tanner and Valerie both were 6 hours old by now and still had a little ways to go before they could die of old age. Stay tuned!
