First, I’d like to apologize. Due to issues with my computer, I wasn’t able to finish this post on time. Instead, this post will go out on the 7th and Docking Station’s post will appear on the 8th. After that, the blog returns to its normal schedule.

bandicam 2015-02-05 14-26-46-694 copyWhen I returned to Albia this time, I found Clarise was the only norn with a smile on her face. Donny and Jonathan were still rubbing their backs on the door to the volcano and I had to push them away with my hand.

Naturally, I had to intervene by introducing some new genes. The truth was, I was just fed up with how dumb the norns were.

bandicam 2015-02-05 14-50-41-932 copyI hopped onto Creatures Caves and downloaded the Nova Subterra norns. The first of this improved breed to enter my world was Veronica, a female Emerald Nova Subterra norn.

As with the others, it didn’t take her long to eat and learn her basic lessons. Right away, I tried to lead her to the rest of the group. Once I realized there was some kind of navigation issue around the bridge, I caved and carried her to the group myself.

bandicam 2015-02-06 22-57-54-324 copyOnce I got there, I found Jonathan in the ground, where I got used to finding Clarise after a ‘door party’. Feeling a frustrated, I decided to open the door to the volcano. Staving in the ground didn’t seem especially merciful compared to overheating in the volcano, at any rate.

bandicam 2015-02-06 23-02-53-188 copyOnce they started to explore the volcano, it didn’t seem like anything immediately dangerous was happening, anyway! Despite a long fall, Donny was actually smiling!

Veronica wasn’t faring so well, though. It took quite a lot of Defibrilant and some Liquid food to get her back on her feet. For some reason, she really seemed to struggle with hunger and the volcano. I took a different approach to this group as a result. Instead of taking Norns to their certain doom, I decided to start them back at the Incubator and let them arrive at their doom themselves.

bandicam 2015-02-02 10-20-24-506 copyOh, Creatures 2. I’m oft reminded why I don’t visit this game too often.

After pushing themselves up against the door for a while, Clarise managed to fall through the floor again and I had to rescue her with Pick Me Up.

Jonathan continued to dance against the door and I eventually had to push him away myself. When Jonathan, Clarise and Jenny all returned to the door, I decided to go back to Donny to check on him. With any luck, he wouldn’t be wall bonking quite so badly as the others.

bandicam 2015-02-02 10-25-49-140 copyWhen I found him, he was having a snooze by the carrots near the water wheel and seemed very happy when he finally woke up. Clarise meanwhile managed to get pregnant again. I quickly scooped up her egg and placed it near the incubator, where WolfCtrl ensured it would stay paused.

bandicam 2015-02-02 10-38-27-893 copySoon, Jonathan was starving, and I had to teach him to eat roots, like carrots. We argued for a while about what to do with the root. He kept insisting on running from it and pushing the carrot, but an unfortunate string of slaps soon had him putting the carrot in his mouth and chewing.

When Clarise fell through the floor a third time, I decided to just put her by the water wheel with Jonathan and Jenny. She was starving now, too and needed to learn a lesson about edible roots. Unfortunately, the message never seemed to get across. And, honestly, the whole experience was so frustrating, I had to keep myself from just slapping her to death. She seemed to want to starve anyway.

I couldn’t have been more happy to see that the Norns couldn’t get back into the volcano. Of course, none of the Norns looked happy, especially Clarise who’d just become pregnant again! It turns out I had to teach everyone to eat roots, which the carrots were classified as. Once that was settled, the Norns all seemed a lot happier, if still a bit tired.

bandicam 2015-01-08 23-57-01-164 copyAfter Clarise laid her egg something very unusual happened. She got slapped through the floor!

Mind, this wasn’t a terrible experience for her, but watching her fall through the floor was more than a little surprising for me! I rescued her with PickMeUp and set her among her friends again.

I did my rounds and everyone seemed to be in good health. A few of the norns started using “foo” in place of another word, so I used the Instant Vocabulary Infuser to touch up their vocabularies. Maybe the new Ettin was teaching them words?

In any case, I was starting to think they all had OHSS. No body was eating, nobody was resting – they all just sort of stopped taking care of themselves. Then again, this wasn’t really any different from Creatures 1.

bandicam 2015-01-09 00-16-10-199 copyClarise became pregnant again and continued to refuse to eat. She seemed very happy, though!

Considering the way these two looked at each other and the way they seemed to only breed with each other, it seemed like they would be a pretty monogamous couple! At least, as far as Creatures go.

bandicam 2015-01-08 23-37-41-322 copyThis is Gruff. He’s one of two non-Norn creatures I have in this world. The other, of course, is an Ettin.

Gruff’s an introspective, sad guy, which makes me sad. He got stuck in the yellow life boat and I had to rescue him from his position. When he was freed, he was basically left to his own devices for a little while. At least, until I found him on the bridge.

While the Norns did their own thing for a while, I decided to follow Gruff around and get to know him.

bandicam 2015-01-08 23-42-08-800 copyAt first, he wasn’t sure what to do with the top I brought him. He just stared at it and then tried to run away. I didn’t think he’d played with any toys at this point so it wasn’t too surprising. Once he did play with it a little, he was back to watching the weather.

It was actually sort of difficult to draw his attention away from the clouds. I even had a little difficulty getting him to eat. He just seemed like a quiet, somewhat lonesome guy. I’m glad I took a few minutes to tend a few of his needs.
