bandicam 2015-04-01 21-29-12-451 copy Would you look at that happy face? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a norn look so happy during pregnancy! And look! She’s still holding her ball. Maybe she’s hoping to give it to her baby once it hatches?

Too bad that was so far off because of my hatching policy. At least she was willing to eat for me, probably because her boredom was so well managed. The little smarty pants always had a toy with her, so there was no reason to be bored! She later laid her egg with no problems and that brought our total to 7 eggs. Quite the number!

Cassy, as usual, complained about hunger but was so preoccupied with Danny and hooch that she practically refused food! Fed up, I moved the hooch to the small pond below the waterfall. I still didn’t have any success feeding her. I guess Danny was just that great a distraction.

I returned to the island to find Grub making friends with David (who blinked, of course)bandicam 2015-04-01 21-43-21-857 copy. The pair was talking about the lift button and sharing complaints. David talked about how tired he was and Grub kept repeating “Grub food”. I guess he was hungry!

Poor Mallory was hungry too and her health reflected that! Perry was in the same area as her and kept eating the carrots, though! What a greedy norn! His health was at a cool 77% and Mallory’s was at 55%. Before I could get a carrot in Mallory, Peony became pregnant. Of course, with Perry moved out of the way, Mallory still didn’t eat.

bandicam 2015-04-01 21-53-33-321 copyI tried to get her to sleep instead since rest seemed to be her biggest need. Even so, she didn’t sleep and her life force continued to decline. I injected her with “Sleeping Pill” and decided to feed her once she woke up. Once she woke up, I offered her a parsnip and she ate without being asked! Soon, she had that bright, smiling face on again. This got me thinking and I decided to try helping out Cassy again.

bandicam 2015-04-01 21-57-55-699 copyI had little success and as I was trying to feed her, David got sick. Grub and Peony were nearby and I couldn’t get them away from him because they decided to play with the lift. It took a few rides on the lift before I managed to get him away on the paddle boat. Antigen 0 turned out to be the culprit this time and, thankfully, he didn’t get anyone else sick. Once he was ashore, I had a real challenge on my hands trying to feed him. I offered him some cheese but a sneeze had him spinning out of control. He finally got to eat it when his health was at about 40%. Then, he ate a carrot. It crept up to 56% when I finally talked him into sleeping.

bandicam 2015-04-01 22-11-56-123 copyUltimately, it was his body that would win the battle. If we were lucky. All I could do was bring him food. His health took a sharp turn downards as his antibodies increased in number. The bacteria fought hard, but I had faith in him. I mean, look at that goofy, optimistic face. Of course, as I took his picture, he aged right before my eyes

The battle wasn’t over yet, though! We still had an antigen to fight and it was fighting hard. When his health dipped to 38%, I started to lose hope. Of course, the girls couldn’t let me take a break during a time like this. Tabby became pregnant while I helped David fight his sickness. David at least kept eating. I wondered why his fight was so difficult but then, a deeper look into the science kit revealed two unknown toxins in his body! It seemed like the bacteria were starting to evolve. Unfortunately, I had no idea how to deal with unknown toxins in this game. I hopefully injected David with Anti-oxidant but it seems like his body was already winning. His antibody 0 count was finally higher than antigen 0 and he was finally recovering.

His status was finally reading “Healthy” and I could move on to other things, like Peony’s failing health. Thankfully, she didn’t have an illness and quickly ate the carrots I offered her. I also collected Tabby’s egg, which was laid during my trouble with David. I hardly noticed the 20 minutes pass because the experience was so nerve wracking, but it was finally over. I couldn’t even take many pictures!

bandicam 2015-03-29 13-24-28-351 copyGrub was settling in with the horde now but David didn’t seem to be a fan of his complaining. It was still nice to see our Grendel getting along with the rest of the group, and I was glad he was there.

bandicam 2015-03-29 13-33-53-833 copyWhen it came to our oldest lady, Cassy, food was still an issue. She was so distracted by Danny that she didn’t even look at the food that I was offering her. I didn’t have all day and she wasn’t in danger of starving just yet, so I decided to leave her alone. Danny was busy trying to sleep and enjoy a drink, so I wasn’t worried about them breeding, anyway.

bandicam 2015-03-29 13-37-11-154 copySpeaking of breeding, Mallory got pregnant! Look at that big, happy smile! To celebrate, she found a ball and started playing with it. How cute! I hope her baby is as clever when it comes to managing boredom. I wanted to try something out with my next baby anyway. A tooltip suggested that boredom management might be important for a norn’s brain’s health, so one of the first things I’ll be teaching, after “push food” will be “push toy”. It’s an idea, and we’ll see how it works.

bandicam 2015-03-22 20-20-51-452 copyIn due time, Peony laid her egg, and thankfully, she wasn’t hard to feed so long as other Norns weren’t around. Before long, she was crowded and I couldn’t get her to eat another bite. At least her health danced around 75%. Basically, I had nothing to worry about. She even smiled, and often! With her new egg, that put our egg counter at 6. With no babies in the import queue, this made things very easy to

I still had to worry about Cassy and Danny’s deteriorating health, however. With the pair secluded from the other norns, it wasn’t too hard to feed Cassy, but Danny was still a challenge. Thankfully, a quick slap on the rump was all it eventually took. Peony, still recovering from her pregnancy was the only challenge I had now. Of course, as surrounded by norns as she was now, it seemed like I had no hope feeding her!

bandicam 2015-03-22 20-32-17-996 copyI had to isolate her on the western dock before she would finally eat. It meant separating her from all the other norns, but for the sake of her health, I would argue that the hassle was worth it.

Finally, once everyone was healthy and happy, I could look forward to the next egg without any worry or stress. David was our oldest now and didn’t even have grey hair yet, so not only was there no cause to introduce a new norn right away, but I didn’t have to worry about anyone dying of old age for a while. Not a bad scene to come back to, I think.

Whoops! This was supposed to go out on the 23rd! Instead of putting it away til tomorrow, consider this a “sneak preview” at my return to Creatures. The next blog post will be on Tuesday, assuming things go according to plan.

Thanks for your understanding!

——–

It’s been over two weeks since I posted anything Creatures related, but with some issues with my computer resolved, I could finally make some time for blogging. So here I am! I’m back!

Because they couldn’t make things easy for me, Danny and Cassy’s health levels were both in the lower 60s, but they were at least sticking around that level rather than, say, plummeting.

bandicam 2015-03-22 19-27-17-041 copyI couldn’t spend my time waiting on them to eat and instead checked on the others. David, Danny and Perry all crowded in the lighthouse while Peony loitered at the bottom, playing “back and forth” with the cart.

I urged Cassy to wander towards the bees where she could drink precious honey. Her health still hung around the low 60s and some honey would be beneficial for her. Meanwhile, Mallory and Tabby played chase games on the beach. It wasn’t really dissimilar to watching children playing chase with a dog or another child.

bandicam 2015-03-22 19-29-06-767 copyOf course, by now, being as tired of seeing Purple Mountain Norn and Ron mixes all over the world as I was, I was ready to introduce another horse norn or pixie norn to the group, just to mix things up. I hate to put it this way, but it was starting to get difficult to tell them all apart.

Still, with so many babies pending hatching, it seemed unfair to introduce a new one now, especially with Tabby just over 30 minutes old. Naturally, to keep me busy, Peony decided to get pregnant. With two males crowding her, it was hard to tell who the father was. David? Danny? I couldn’t tell! All I really knew is that I needed to start force feeding Peony some carrots to support her new baby.
