bandicam 2015-02-16 23-49-29-928 copyIt was very cool to see two populations forming themselves in the world and while it made me sad to see old norns getting ready to leave the world, I was also pretty happy about the babies that had yet to enter it. I took a peek and still had Aster, Fidget, Mese and Stain left to import.

As for Synergy, she wouldn’t live long enough to see the very last baby imported into the world. It was strange to become so quickly overwhelmed by norns that I wasn’t able to learn about or keep up with any of them, but at the same time, I’m glad that they all lead better lives than during the event.

bandicam 2015-02-16 23-53-04-595 copyThere was a lot of bad mouthing about the other norns, but I was starting to think this was bound to happen anyway. When I tried to lessen the chatter by separating everyone for a little while, I had some success but Drake sadly passed away. I guess he must have starved. The poor guy hardly moved from his perch in the Norn Terrarium and I guess the food just wasn’t abundant enough. A small comfort, though, he at least had Andromeda by his side and many of the norns admired her, including Drake.

bandicam 2015-02-16 23-57-16-485 copyIt came time to introduce the next baby, though. Life moves on. You might remember Fidget as the first victim of EE in the random event run. The good news is that the first thing she did in this world was start eating, so we’re off to a great start.

Kerplunk was the first norn to return to the Norn Terrarium. If nothing else, this meant he could have all of the apples to himself! None of the other norns seemed wise to his absence, though. The Norn Meso was so crowded, it would take more than a missing norn or two to really notice a difference. And believe me, everyone was so busy eating plums and breeding, I don’t think I had to mind any migrations any time soon.

bandicam 2015-02-17 00-11-48-007 copyAs time marched forward, I watched the norns age and grow up. Soon, Synergy would be taken away to Silicon Heaven. She was making friends with Eve and Anai, at least. The girls only seemed to tickle each other. Eventually, it happened and before I could introduce the next baby.

Sadly, her death marked the beginning of a very sad time to come. Introducing a new baby every 15 minutes meant that once natural old-age deaths started happening, they would happen every 15 minutes. I tried to keep my chin up and prepared to introduce the next baby.

Speaking of babies, while I waited, the egg count creeped up to 100. Lin got to mother the 100th egg. Gracious that’s going to be a lot of eggs for me to sort through later!

bandicam 2015-02-17 00-20-22-006 copyFinally, our resident Tomato Whisperer Mese was to join us. This world din’t have tomatoes, but I hoped he decided to make some friends with the resident Norns, anyway.

Kerplunk was still by himself in the Norn Terrarium but at least he was safe (and being showered by chocolate roses) so I didn’t have to worry about him, though I still checked on him. I’d rather not another death like Drake’s in this world.

Just then, I decided to move everyone into the Jungle Terrarium. I wanted to see some migration again and Kerplunk was feeling very lonely. Watching the norns go on adventures was a lot of fun for me anyway, and watching the norns split into groups was interesting.

bandicam 2015-02-16 23-19-12-719 copyNext to join us was Mikaela. I always enjoyed her design and was happy to finally see her joining us. The group was finally getting so big, I felt tempted to call it a mob instead!

Naturally, amidst the slapping, even Anai, who was relatively new to the group, was able to get pregnant. Dark Cat and Spurius feuded in the low levels of the Norn Terrarium and Lin made herself comfortable in the Medical bay, just to wander in and tickle Dark Cat a few minutes later.

I did my rounds as usual and found Synergy, Logic and Mikaela still in the Norn Meso. I’d be lying if I said I was surprised since I’d gotten so accustomed to at least Synergy and Logic preferring less crowded areas but I was a little sad to see the rest not exploring more to escape that crowdedness.

bandicam 2015-02-16 23-29-16-313 copyI planted some food in the Grendel Jungle and the Ettin Desert and waited to see who would migrate. Dark Cat was the first to move to the Jungle but Peri and Lin were the first to find each other outside of the Norn Terrarium. Lin already liked the Medical Bay but Peri, I suppose, decided to keep her friend company.

Verax soon followed after the two girls and the three of them spent a better part of their time staring at the Umbilical. bandicam 2015-02-16 23-33-02-852 copyEventually, they travelled to the Norn Meso and I introduced the next baby, Delia.

Before I could get a proper look at her, I noticed that she was experiencing pain and repeatedly said “ow”. It wasn’t just her, either. Peri and Lin also complained about pain! At first, I thought the issue was related to wall bonking but the girls didn’t have to be near walls to feel it. I pulled the girls away from the walls just in case, and the issue seemed to stop. Strange, since I hadn’t installed the Creature DoneTo fix in this world. Just in case, I applied a fix to stop the wallbonk script and reinjected the scripts.

When I’d finished, a small crowd was forming in the Meso! Flame, Delia, Lin, Mikaela, Logic, Olga, Verax and Synergy were all here now and Anai was just out the door, on her way in. When I checked the other Terrariums, Dark Cat was still by himself in the Jungle Terrarium and everyone else was in the Norn Terrarium.

bandicam 2015-02-09 12-09-20-568 copyNext to join us was Verax, another boy from the run. Because of the tremendous number of eggs, that were being laid, I was almost relieved that it wasn’t another female. Still, I won’t be hatching these eggs. Instead, I’ll be making all the offspring available for download, complete with a parentage chart.

For now, the eggs just kept on coming. I rounded everyone up to feed and once everyone was satisfied their needs were met, the egg count continued to climb.

bandicam 2015-02-09 12-24-22-538 copyWhen my counter ran down, it was time to introduce yet another baby and this time, Flame was the lucky baby chosen by the game. During the live event, he fathered two babies but still didn’t turn out a winner.

Just after I’d added him, I removed the Offline Portals and rounded up the norns one last time. I decided that the group should start in the Norn Terrarium but I still wanted them to roam. Calling them back to feed them as a group was starting to get in the way of their exploration and I think the Offline Portals were moving them around in a way they didn’t quite understand.

Then, out of the blue, Lin, Logic and Synergy all started slapping other norns! It was very strange. I moved them all away from the group and they weren’t slapping each other. I guess someone must have made them angry.

bandicam 2015-02-09 12-34-19-253 copyLogic made his way back to the Norn Meso and Synergy played with the elevator in the medical bay. Synergy tried to follow logic but was temporarily gripped by EE. I sent her through the Umbilical and she made her way to the Meso where she ate plums with Logic.

Having gone on that short adventure, I decided to check on the other groups. Lin had stayed by the Norn Terrarium door and was getting hungry. When I led her back to the elevator leading to the first floor of the Norn Terrarium, a huge group of norns walked up and started kissing her! Males and females alike! I guess she was missed.

bandicam 2015-02-09 11-55-15-143 copySynergy spent all of her time in the corridors of the Shee Ark now. She still ate when she was hungry and still smiled broadly when all of her needs were met.

Though she did make a few trips here and there, she always seemed to come here, to this elevator. I wasn’t able to watch her very closely, but I did wonder if there was some significance in this place for her.

bandicam 2015-02-09 12-01-54-249 copySolitary norns were starting to crop up more frequently. Logic complained of loneliness but hadn’t moved away from the plums since he was a baby. I guess, despite them all having very similar genomes, some still had their preferences. Perhaps some just didn’t like the prospect of being around norns that they strongly disliked? Who knew. It’s not as though I’d be able to ask.

bandicam 2015-02-09 12-03-17-961 copyStill other norns, like little Anai seemed to enjoy the company of others. Come to think of it, nearly all of the norns seemed to like being around others and even made small groups with each other. Chang and Adelphos spent most of their time together, Daedalus and Kerplunk had become friends and Drake didn’t move around much, but he liked a lot of norns. I guess he figured lying in the middle of the Norn Terrarium made it easy for him to talk to everyone and every once in a while, an apple would fall down for him to eat anyway.
