Goodness do I hate seeing Valerie micronapping.

I forced a lot of food into her belly and she finally had a restful sleep. Her health still steadily dropped and I braced myself for the worse. 72, 69, 61… It just kept going down.

Suddenly, and out of nowhere, her status flicked back to healthy and her health ticked up to 62%. It didn’t take long for her health to rise back up to 76% and I felt comfortable leaving her on her own again.

bandicam 2013-06-09 22-14-57-108I lead them to each other and now I have an egg on the way. Relax, that 45 there changed to a 1 after I got the pregnancy notification.

With Valerie finally well and with her egg on the way, I could relax a little. Her health dropped down to 60 again because she wouldn’t eat, but at least she wasn’t being attacked by bacteria. Off to check on our grendel!

As Valerie laid her red and yellow egg, our grendel friend stared off into blue sky. I wasn’t sure what he was thinking about but one thing’s certain. This Grendel knows how to relax.

Valerie had another trick up her sleeve to get me panicking again. After she laid her egg, she continued to refuse to eat. Her health droped to 47% as I strugged to get her to eat anything. No matter what, she wouldn’t comply.

I decided to try something new. First, I fed her a Morning Glory from the Health Kit and suddenly, she was eating everything in sight. Maybe she needed something new to try? In any case, she was finally well again and her health had reached a safe 76%.

Would it be smooth sailing from here? Tanner and Valerie both were 6 hours old by now and still had a little ways to go before they could die of old age. Stay tuned!

Before I could try out my Pearlmaid World Concept, I needed to set up the world.

As much as I would love to incorporate the IQ test into this concept world, I’d still rather look at each creature one at a time. I would like to investigate the genes of every creature that comes out of my little venture. Anyway.

I set up a small egg area on the rightmost underwater platform in Aquanornia. Norns can’t reach this spot so I thought it would be perfect. It would also prevent norns form hatching without my influence so I could keep the generations separated.

I made the ‘beach’ where our matriarchs would lay their eggs more cozy as well. The addition of grass, a shack and some food would hopefully make them more comfortable. They would need it given they would be laying so many eggs at a time.

Now that everything was set up (and all of our bacteria were killed) it was time to introduce our first creatures.

bandicam 2013-06-06 23-58-45-405I got Muco to lay two males and one female. As they hatched, I put the boys away for import later and decided to have some one on one time with Persephone. As a generation 1 norn, I didn’t expect her to have any mutations. I gave her a white tiara and taught her all of her lessons.

Resting when she was tired was first and she learned quickly. It was difficult to tell with the graphics, but she definitely got the idea. At just 6 minutes old, she was able to eat on her own and rest when she was tired.

Not only was she quick to learn, she was also pretty sweet. I was starting to remember why I kept these guys as pets and companions. I taught her not to hit, push or pull her food and soon, she was a sleep. As it was after midnight, I took it as a sign and it was time for bed.

I know, I know. It’s been a while. Again.

bandicam 2013-05-30 22-58-16-456Be that as it may, Valerie has finally gotten her first real rest in a long time. After her nap, it was time to start pleading with her to eat something. As always, it was a serious problem. Her health was down to 68% and no matter what, I couldn’t seem to get her to eat.

Tanner, thankfully, gave me no such stress. He wouldn’t eat, either, but his health sat at a comfortable 76%.

Eventually, I got Valerie to eat and she set off, exploring Albia once again.

bandicam 2013-05-30 23-06-50-840That is, until she got sick.

It figures that as soon as I got her healthy again, she would get sick. Despite her happy smile, I was worried that Antigen 0 would harm her uterus, keeping me away from the eggs I desired so badly.

I got her to eat one carrot but she kept spinning and spinning. I felt helpless trying to make this sick norn healthy again. I did eventually get her to take a bite of a lemon and her health jumped a respectable 8%. It kept rising for a little while as she spun, all the way up to a nice, safe, 76%. Eventually, she would get better but it was still a waiting game.

Things actually worked out this time. As it turns out, my world had a macro glitch that caused the game to crash. I’m lazy and didn’t take the time to read the error it threw (too busy saving a backup of each of my creatures and their babies) but I figured I should start a new world anyway, just to be safe.

Why was this a blessing in disguise? Well, at the time of the game crashing, Tanner got sick with a bacteria that dropped his health down to a worrying 32%. I only know this because the Observation kit didn’t auto-kill when the game crashed.

Days later, I was finally able to create a new world.

This snoring Grendel was able to help me create the new world. Without him, I couldn’t open the injector kit before the Norns came in. Before you ask, yes! This is the grendel that I recovered from the crashed world.I managed to save all of the creatures before the game crashed.

Once Tanner and Valerie were recovered, they set to work on their third egg. I won’t spoil the surprise on the previous two but I am sad to say that I know what they are now. I had to hatch them to save them. Suffice it to say that this egg is more important to me now than ever.

The pair kisspopped a few times amidst struggles to get them to eat and sleep. Valerie still slept restlessly. I’m a little worried because she didn’t start doing this til after her first pregnancy. I thought she would stop when she wasn’t carrying but it seems I was wrong.

Tanner slept without issue in the Garden after still more kisspopping. Now that I had these two together, it seemed like I wouldn’t be able to get them apart.

They kept trying for a third egg but had no such luck. Instead, I watched a miserable Valerie continually fail to get any rest when she slept. At five hours old each, I figured Valerie had time to get some rest before she passed away and Tanner had plenty of time to father more eggs.
