In case you didn’t get the news, I finished the Norn doll I was working on.
I’ve chosen to call him Chester Nornington and when he isn’t holding crochet hooks, stitch markers and yarn balls for me, he’s guarding the dog cookies on the desk. He isn’t a very cheerful guy seeing as he has to protect the dog cookies from two 40 lbs dogs.
When I returned to Albia to check on my C1 world, I found Grenty bored and hungry near the house. I fed her, gave her some toys and she made herself comfortable. She didn’t seem interested in travelling beyond the garden and that was fine by me.
Tanner and Valerie on the other hand were far from the house. Tanner stayed by the clock in the tree and Valerie stayed underground by the island. They were both having trouble eating but as their healths were still over 70, I was happy to give them some independence.
It wasn’t long til I had to force feed Tanner but otherwise, it was a hot lazy day, even in Albia.
Grentilda was tired but she did a great job of keeping herself healthy. For a while, I was even able to browse CCaves and comfortably leave the game running. I felt like I did an alright job raising these guys.
Because I had so much time I decided to hatch their third egg and was faced with a problem. I had to get them breeding again.
I was worried they wouldn’t have enough time for children because they were 7 hours old each now. After trapping them and filling them with food, though, they were finally pregnant again.
Valerie seemed so happy and I soon learned why! I won’t spoil the news but needless to say, I don’t have to pester these two for any more eggs.
Not long after I exported the baby, the game crashed. Oh dear. Find out whether everything survived next time!
Persephone seemed to enjoy her time away from the boys. She felt a little bored but a Twilight Sparkle doll was a nice distraction. She eventually rested on the surface and the boys continued to have their pow-wow at the bottom of the metaroom. I gathered them all below hoping for some more social interactions but aside from the occasionally crunch of food, they were more interested in sleeping.
It was a while before our Matriarch wanted more eggs but when she wanted them, she sought them out. She actually chased the boys out of their hideaway but couldn’t seem to get pregnant again.
I’d checked her organs and HoverDoc said she was well so my only guess was that her timing was bad or that the boys weren’t as interested as they were at first. Maybe tomorrow will bring her better luck.
As if the last scare wasn’t bad enough, Valerie had to start off today by sampling weeds. Oh well. At least the ugly tomato was harmless and I could take the chance to scold her for eating a weed.
She and Tanner still tried to make babies so I still had that to hold on to. They stuck together for a while and ate and seemed pretty happy so I felt safe leaving them alone for a little while.
I took this chance to check on the grendel and found that he was starving and bored but that he still seemed content to rest on the island. It turned out he was stuck so I exported him and imported him back into the game to find that he was about to pass away anyway. Poor guy. :C
Naturally, I took this opportunity to introduce Grentilda, a C1 Grendel based on my first creatchi, Grentilda at CCaves.com. She was graciously created by Grendel Man.
Once she was situated, I left her on her own. Grendels seem to do a much better job of taking care of themselves than norns, after all. Speaking of, when I returned to them, they’d stopped eating and Tanner’s health dropped into the upper 60s. I had to separate them as far as sending Valerie to the island before Tanner would finally eat something. Unfortunately, separation meant they were less likely to make another baby. We’ll see how things turn out, though.
