And I love it.

It works like other Autonamers (it only names creatures that don’t have names) except that instead of giving them ‘proper’ names or even goofy names, it gives them names based on their species, gender and generation.

Here are some examples.

bandicam 2013-12-11 22-43-37-043This little boy is named NoM0002. No means he’s a Norn, M means he’s male and 0002 shows what generation he is.

bandicam 2013-12-11 23-24-12-801This little girl is named GrF0208. Gr means she’s a Grendel, F means she’s female and 0208 shows what generation she is.

Why is this useful? It’s useful if you have an automatic exporter on and want to be able to tell at a glance what kind of creature it is and how far down the family tree it is while you’re in your My Creatures folder.

It’s also nice to have if you want to name creatures without having to worry about getting attached to them.

Feel free to expand on this agent if you like! I’ve included the .cos file for your tinkering pleasure. It’s based on the original autonamer.

Enjoy!

Psst! Ideas for expansion? Add letters to identify what order the creatures hatched in. Have fun!
