I might be sick with the flu and my Creatures Exodus experience might be on hold until I get some technical difficulties worked out, but as they say in showbiz, the show must go on!

bandicam 2014-11-20 13-46-07-635 copySo here goes. I’m opening up Creatures 1 for the first time in… well, in ages! I felt inspired after spending the last few days reading up on old Discover Albia entries. If you haven’t yet, try reading Jessica’s blog from the beginning, her site’s a real gem.

Since it had been so long, I decided to start the world anew. Why not, right? I picked a purple spotted egg and then this little girl popped out. I’ve named her Lydia.

bandicam 2014-11-20 13-48-30-464 copyI have to admit, I find Ron norns very… ugly. But this is what the random number god picked out for me, so I’ll stick to it. She’s a very obedient girl so far and, even though I glimpsed a few sad faces, they were quickly sorted when I encouraged her to push food. She learned a lot of the words she needed to start life and that made early communication very easy. So far, she seems to want to stay in the garden, so while she relaxes, let’s take a peek at her genetics.

Rather than go into full detail (cold medicine is getting the better of me), I’ll some up the most interesting changes for you.

Compared with her father genome (dad4 from my updated C1 genetics.) she starts with two more Antibody 1, which means she should be slightly better prepared for an attack from Antigen 1.

When she is patted by another creature, instead of Crowdedness increasing, SexDrive increases. This could make her a very active mother.

Finally, instead of “I am approaching” causing Loneliness to decrease and crowdedness to increase, “I am retreating” causes those changes.

There is another stimuli that I haven’t yet addressed because I’m not sure what to make of it. In the meantime, here’s the list of differences from dad4.

bandicam 2014-11-20 14-18-12-185Anyway, back to learning about our new little one. It took her a long time to finally do it the first time, but I eventually got her to sleep by telling her to look at herself and saying “sleep”. It’s something I hadn’t tried before but once she finally had fallen asleep, I was able to pat her. Poor thing was so tired, she was frowning. In fact, she frowned a lot. Her life force was at a comforting 76% and she was nearly 20 minutes old so I decided it was time to introduce a male. We’ll get to meet him next time.

And topsy turvy and just kind of… All over the place. Moving has really taking the wind out of my sails.

So what better thing can I do for it than abandon all of my past projects and start over. Again. The only project I’m keeping is the Trade run with NornXXL. I don’t think he’d be pleased if I up and deleted all of the norns.

bandicam 2013-10-04 09-30-27-667bandicam 2013-10-04 09-38-59-039Anyway. Here indecisive me goes again trying to find a shred of passion for the Creatures Series, where it all began.

Soon a little girl would hatch out of this egg. In the meantime I checked out her genetics and found that she was totally mutation free. What a relief!

As she used the computer, I brought her some cheese and honey and hoped she would soon eat. At two minutes old it was great to see her so interested in learning.

She had some cheese and we were off to explore Albia together.

bandicam 2013-10-04 09-42-32-496The first thing she opted to tackle was the carrot patch. She ate a carrot and headed straight for the bridge where we learned all about herbs and weeds. I had to slap her on the butt once after she ate a weed but no real harm was done and she was munching on the herbs before long. I gave her a toy to play with and figured that was enough for one day.

bandicam 2013-08-06 22-39-14-512Tanner and Valerie looked so tired in their old age and their white hair was definitely showing. Even Valerie’s eye lashes were silver now!

Valerie stuck to the island and Tanner to the temple but this was typical of them. Grentilda still kept them company. Time seemed to be running out for them and, though they were in good health, they slowed down and didn’t seem so interested in exploration anymore. Tanner stayed in the temple, likely reflecting on his younger days and Valerie enjoyed a vacation touring the island’s caves.

With these two on their own, enjoying old age, it was time to introduce the offspring I opted to keep.

Meet Neo. He has his Mother’s face and arms and his Father’s everything else. I chose to give him this name due to his strange self-given name. eoeo sounded enough like Neo.

You probably don’t remember, but this little boy has the ‘languish when sleepy’ gene. He’s had a chance to sleep already and was showered with praise so I can only hope that this has helped prevent him from feeling miserable when he gets bags under the eyes.

So far, he’s a good eater but he spends most of his time laying down, probably due to his mutation. He also can’t seem to hold his attention on any one thing, which is very disheartening. He’s still learned the names of some things and it took him a long time to learn verbs but he’s still doing well so far, taking his mutations into consideration.

bandicam 2013-08-06 23-47-30-465I opted to teach this little girl all of her verbs before giving her a name and then, just as we covered the last verb, Grentilda and Neo appeared through the teleporter. It took a little while to separate the group but I did it and the little lady polished off a honey pot all by herself. Apparently, Grentilda taught her my name (mommy) and she quickly learned the name for toys and food. So far, so good.

bandicam 2013-07-17 22-10-01-250bandicam 2013-07-17 22-14-21-843Here we are, starting with another fresh world. This world actually crashed and caused my panic attack from last time so this time, the only COB we’re using is Grendel Friendly. And probably the Grendel Select button.

After backing everyone up, it was time to start again.

Valerie’s life, as it seemed though, was entering its final chapter. At 9 hours, 15 minutes old, Valerie started to turn grey! She had 4 children, three daughters and 1 son (technically) with her husband Tanner, who was only able to hold on to his youthful looks for a little while longer.

Valerie’s health declined steadily since she stopped eating and instead spent her time struggling to sleep. It was sad to watch but she eventually started an exodus for the island.

Tanner stayed close to home, however and complained more of boredom. His health sat over 70%.

I desperately hoped that they would have more children but with my decision made to keep just the two that I’d already selected, it seemed alright for them to retire from parenthood.

I was able to stir her from sleep long enough to get her to eat a piece of cheese and she continued her trek to the island. She kept riding the tram back and forth between the light house and the island but she seemed content to travel anyway.

Tanner, ever the momma’s boy, stayed home, like he would when he was little. I tried my best to keep them happy and comfortable but it seemed like it was time to finally bring in some new blood.
