And Back To The Norns

I couldn’t have been more happy to see that the Norns couldn’t get back into the volcano. Of course, none of the Norns looked happy, especially Clarise who’d just become pregnant again! It turns out I had to teach everyone to eat roots, which the carrots were classified as. Once that was settled, the Norns all seemed a lot happier, if still a bit tired.

bandicam 2015-01-08 23-57-01-164 copyAfter Clarise laid her egg something very unusual happened. She got slapped through the floor!

Mind, this wasn’t a terrible experience for her, but watching her fall through the floor was more than a little surprising for me! I rescued her with PickMeUp and set her among her friends again.

I did my rounds and everyone seemed to be in good health. A few of the norns started using “foo” in place of another word, so I used the Instant Vocabulary Infuser to touch up their vocabularies. Maybe the new Ettin was teaching them words?

In any case, I was starting to think they all had OHSS. No body was eating, nobody was resting – they all just sort of stopped taking care of themselves. Then again, this wasn’t really any different from Creatures 1.

Considering the way these two looked at each other and the way they seemed to only breed with each other, it seemed like they would be a pretty monogamous couple! At least, as far as Creatures go.

Our C2 Grendel, Gruff

bandicam 2015-01-08 23-37-41-322 copyThis is Gruff. He’s one of two non-Norn creatures I have in this world. The other, of course, is an Ettin.

Gruff’s an introspective, sad guy, which makes me sad. He got stuck in the yellow life boat and I had to rescue him from his position. When he was freed, he was basically left to his own devices for a little while. At least, until I found him on the bridge.

While the Norns did their own thing for a while, I decided to follow Gruff around and get to know him.

bandicam 2015-01-08 23-42-08-800 copyAt first, he wasn’t sure what to do with the top I brought him. He just stared at it and then tried to run away. I didn’t think he’d played with any toys at this point so it wasn’t too surprising. Once he did play with it a little, he was back to watching the weather.

It was actually sort of difficult to draw his attention away from the clouds. I even had a little difficulty getting him to eat. He just seemed like a quiet, somewhat lonesome guy. I’m glad I took a few minutes to tend a few of his needs.

The Final Kit!

bandicam 2015-01-08 22-45-37-628 copyVictory! I finally did it! This is actually the first time I’ve ever collected all of the power ups in this game through legitimate means. Of course, I couldn’t do it without the help of Jonathan and Clarise.

I knew sooner or later, they’d have trouble getting food in this little incubation area and i had to separate them all to feed them. Things were a lot less busy now that I’d collected the power ups so I moved on to my next goal – moving the norns to the foresty village next to the swamp.

This proved to be one of the most tedious things I’d ever done and, of course, I ended up having to use PickMeUp to do it – the norns just wouldn’t listen, especially once they’d reached the desert.

bandicam 2015-01-08 23-07-04-080 copyFinally, with everyone settled, I hatched the next egg. With some help from the incubator, I hatched Jonathan and Clarise’s first egg.

bandicam 2015-01-08 23-10-40-944 copyMeet Donny. Yes, he aged to a child before he learned his name! I guess we have a fast ager on our hands, at least for the first stage of his life.

I have to say, I like his colors!

While I admired his colors Jenny and Jonathan both decided to wander into the volcano. I didn’t even have time for a picture because I was so busy trying to lure them out but when I finally got them out, they were both terribly thirsty. I delivered them some Hollow Coconuts and was ecstatic to see that no one else had tried to go into the volcano (again) yet.

Loads of Kits Today

bandicam 2015-01-08 21-26-54-366 copyThe three continued to put toys in their mouth for a short while and as they did, I wondered if I should lead them to the foresty area. I couldn’t do much exploring myself since I was basically tethered to each of the little darlings, but I was still planning to nab the rest of the gameplay power ups.

bandicam 2015-01-08 21-30-17-996 copyBecause his location was convenient, I took Jonathan up to the bridge leading to the new area. He was still drowsy, not having an opportunity to sleep since he and the girls started trying to eat toys, but he marched on. I should note that I was happy to let him rest, but he looked like he wanted to just get it over with.

He made his way to the waterfall and enjoyed a quick rest by the telescope before moving on.

bandicam 2015-01-08 21-36-20-132 copyHe nearly drowned in this shallow pond but when I came to his rescue, he had a new lady friend. I’ve named her Bella (Magic School Bus, anyone?). Unfortunately, she didn’t last long. I took her down in a lift after forgetting that Frog Norns die if taken too far from their pond.

bandicam 2015-01-08 21-43-04-683 copyEventually, I was able to lure him around to get two more power ups. When he got the Advanced Science Kit I had to act quickly, though. He was a star at pushing implements but he basically flung himself into the Volcano. I was able to use PickMeUp just in time to keep him from colliding with the ground.

bandicam 2015-01-08 21-50-19-063 copyJenny, the youngest female, was the first to get sick. She didn’t infect any of the other norns and she was fine after some honey and a Tomato. Thankfully, the problem wasn’t worse.

Clarise was the next norn I took on an adventure. I’d spotted the Neuroscience kit and got her to collect it for me after lots and lots of struggling.

bandicam 2015-01-08 21-58-13-426 copyUnfortunately, I didn’t know a thing about creature brains so while it’s nice for the sake of completion, the kit did nothing practical for me. Still, to celebrate our return to the incubation area, where the other two Norns were, Clarise decided to have an egg.

Things were certainly starting to get crowded in the incubator area, but the Norns that were already here might be able to help teach whoever I hatched next.
