Now that everyone had recovered from the plague, they were taking a vacation on the island. The only norn who didn’t get sick, AppleJack, was hanging out with the bees. Fun fact. AppleJack maintained a health of about 90% during the plague!

It didn’t take long for AppleJack to decide to join the rest of her family on the island. It also didn’t take her long to change her mind and decide to head back to the waterfall, though!

With the others on the bridge, I took the opportunity to snap this photo of AppleJack.

Penny and Godfried flirted on the island while Patrick worked on making a new friend and AppleJack explored the lighthouse and falls. By now, AppleJack had proven to be the most independent norn.

Soon, though, Penny was pregnant with her first egg! Godfried slept on the bridge after his achievement (and after some slapping from Penny after more unwanted advances).

Penny took care to feed herself but Godfried seemed to be having trouble eating on his own. As if on queue, Penny came up to distract him some more, and then our Grendel friend stopped by to say hello and congratulate the happy couple.

Now, there were two eggs under the garden.

There was still one egg left to hatch. Does Godfried have another brother or a sister? Do Penny and Godfried have a boy or a girl?

More next time!

Soon enough, Alfreda was pregnant with her 3rd egg!

She’s making quite a name for herself already! She likes to stay in the jungle but so far, the farthest the boys have strayed is to the garden. It seems like most of the girls would rather wander and all the boys are… lazy.

She did get pregnant a fourth time some hours later but this nearly slipped my radar. And a fifth! And a sixth! The game seemed to be dragging on for the rest of the day and the only thing bringing me back was the sound of kiss popping. Just then I had an idea.

Meet figgy, my lady grendel. I decided she could keep fig company.

I left everyone alone while I made dinner just to come back and see that everyone had died and no norns had taken their place.

Turns out Eggonicer had glitched and it was depositing the eggs into the comms room. With no food, all the creatures were dying while I was away.

It didn’t take fig long to make his way to the babies though he didn’t seem interested in beating them up like he did the ladies. He was making me nervous being so close to the babies so I added the Portal Intelligence Core, partly to give me something else to do, partly to teach them their vocabulary, and I decided to do more knitting.

When I came back, there was a death notification but when I clicked on it, the Sparkle Reaper had already taken the body away. That meant a new egg had been introduced, however, and little Anton was now claiming his stomping ground.

Alfreda was next to replace Belinda, who’d passed away in the temple. By now, I’m thinking about throttling fig.

Alfreda was now the only female in the world and all the boys were near fig.

Finally, I made the decision to move the grendel into the unused norn meso. Maybe now my norns can make it past one generation.

Speaking of, some time later, Alfreda became pregnant!

This is good news and I desperately hope she becomes an excellent breeder.

Before long, she was pregnant again. I can only hope this is a great sign.

Oh my.

I just… what?

In any case, this guy turned out to be pretty violent. Rather than interfere, however, I decided to let him pace around this pillar. He didn’t move away from it and actually seemed to be glitching on it, unable to move past it on either direction.

It didn’t take long for him to wander away long enough to beat up on poor Andorea, however. Now, the boys were separated from the girls with fig in the middle! I was pretty sure this would badly affect breeding but there were enough paths around him and I wasn’t terribly worried. Besides. Norns in this game can live upwards of 8 hours, right?

Soon, Annabella was killed by fig. As he slept, the other two ladies made it to the other side of him and started to make their way back to the garden. In Annabella’s place, Barendina was born. It was too late for the other ladies, though. As I typed, fig killed the both of them as well. With the death of them, Attilla and Belinda were born.

With the arrival of these three, I added two hardman norn eggs to the eggbank and carried on with my day.
