White Hair!

bandicam 2015-03-02 11-30-10-706 copyCassy was sporting more than just a shock of white hair when I checked on her. Her whole head was topped with silvery strands.

She lounged on the beach with her friend Grub and was taking better care of herself by eating nearby Parsnips. Meanwhile, all of the males were at the lowest level of the island having some kind of nornish mosh pit! How strange!

bandicam 2015-03-02 11-36-03-129 copyPeony made her way to the bee hives and started playing with them, only to find that she felt painful stings instead of delicious honey. Bored with that, she started playing with the bees themselves. Oh my.

Meanwhile, everyone else crowded at the island. It was always frustrating to watch the norns huddle around, especially when there was no food at the lower levels. More frustrating was when there was and no one ate it! The grendel, Grub, actually did a much better job caring for himself.

Head still pounding, I used the lift to carry all but Danny to the ground level of the island. I tried to separate them all, but even Mallory made her way here, via the sub.

bandicam 2015-03-02 11-49-25-986 copyThis meant, thankfully, that Bobby was surrounded by friends when he passed away at 12 hours, 21 minutes old. Quite old for a norn!

He also seems to have passed away in comfort, listening to the sounds of the ocean under the shade of an umbrella, probably enjoying the ocean breeze, too.

With his passing, I saw fit to add another norn. With no babies left to import, I could finally hatch an egg.

I stayed with her for a while and enjoyed the relative quiet. One baby norn crawling after me is much more peaceful than a cacophony of adult norns slapping and kissing and talking. Speaking of the mob…

bandicam 2015-03-02 12-06-45-624 copyMallory is pregnant! It was starting to seem like the ladies got pregnant as soon as they could! I managed to pull her away from the crowd long enough to get a picture and even still, some chatty norn had to butt in. Oh well.

She soon laid her egg and it was stored with the others, below the garden. This put our egg count back up to 5. Tabby joined the other norns at the island at the ripe old age of 17 minutes old. I already knew I’d lost her to the mob and settled in for another day of squeaking norns, slaps, kisses and complaints.

Still Difficult Eaters

“Keep your norn active and amused. A bored norn can develop serious mental problems.”

As ‘helpful’ as this Tip of the Day seemed to want to be, I doubted the validity of it. In any case, my norns always seemed to keep each other preoccupied, so I wasn’t too concerned.

bandicam 2015-03-01 23-15-56-778 copyCassy’s pregnancy proceeded normally, as expected, but the distraction of the other norns kept her from eating. Typical, really. Her health hovered in the upper 50s%. It was finally in the 40s, when I was finally able to draw her attention to carrots, but Danny kept her distracted, even though he spent his time sleeping!

Finally, a little blue egg appeared and Cassy’s health slowed its descent. I lured her to the pier, away from the other norns, and gave her some parsnips. As I encouraged her to eat, Peony became pregnant! It was hard to tell who the father would be, but I was excited nonetheless.

bandicam 2015-03-02 11-09-38-725 copyPeony, Cassy, David(not shown), Perry(also not shown) Bobby and even Grub were on the island now. It seemed like the only norn missing now was Mallory, the new baby! Of course, at 40 minutes old, she was hardly a baby anymore.

Still, she acted like one.bandicam 2015-03-02 11-12-39-116 copy She didn’t like to stray from the house and play with toys still. I fed her some food and checked on the others.

Cassy still hadn’t eaten since she got pregnant, and her health was at a dangerous 20%. I had to trap her in the cave where the sub landed on the island, before I could get her to eat two parsnips. Finally, I was able to put away Peony’s new, green egg.

New Baby!

Peony was nearly an hour old now and she was the youngest norn! Since nothing bad had happened in a while, I saw fit to add another baby to our group.

bandicam 2015-02-19 22-29-47-165 copyMeet Mallory, the newest girl to join us. She’s the daugher of Bobby and Babs. When I looked at her actual birthday, I was a little stunned. January 3rd! Wow. I need to come here more often! I have to say, though. She is very easy to teach and very eager to learn. She’d actually pressed all the encyclopedias by herself. After some food, she started to wander out into the garden herself.

Now, everyone else was on the island and it seemed many of them only wanted to bother poor Danny! He just wanted to sleep but Bobby always wanted to say hello and Cassy kept harassing him for another egg. The poor guy spent most of his time ignoring the other norns and trying to sleep, though. Danny eventually tried to make his escape on the boat but the two girls ended up following him anyway. I guess something about being a good sleeper made him attractive to them, though Peony was still too young to breed.

bandicam 2015-02-19 22-42-22-802 copyWhen I checked on her, Mallory was back in the house, complaining that she felt hot. Standing next to a lit stove can do that, but I guess little Mallory didn’t know any better.

I tried to lure her out of the house but my success was limited. The only thing that finally drew her out was the spinning top toy just outside. She then started picking and eating carrots and I thought the heat might wear off for her.

Cassy meanwhile was forgetting to eat again. What confused me a little is that she wasn’t even busy trying to breed! She was just looking at the lift and some parsnips then back at the lift again. She eventually took a nap and I decided to try feeding her when she was done.

Fantastic Ferrying Norns

Cassy shouldn’t be having a baby now anyway with her health the way it is. At 54%, I wasn’t optimistic she’d survive a pregnancy, nevermind the chance of getting sick afterwards. As the only fertile female, she had an important role, too! Stubborn as she was, she didn’t do much eating to help her situation. I did manage to help her get her health back up to 60% before I was content to leave her alone.

bandicam 2015-02-19 22-19-54-016 copyDanny eventually escaped to the island by way of submarine and I guess he must have enjoyed the trip. He took the submarine back and forth a few times before settling on the island. The island’s inhabitants took a similar course, going back and forth between the two piers in that tiny boat.

bandicam 2015-02-19 22-20-26-199 copyThey didn’t seem to enjoy their trip quite so much as Danny enjoyed his, though. Such a tiny boat couldn’t have been comfortable, seeing as 4 norns all had to share it.

Eventually, Peony seized the opportunity to take the boat back and forth by herself. Though she complained of tiredness, she didn’t seem too interested in resting.

bandicam 2015-02-19 22-24-33-714 copyBy now, all of the males were on the island with Peony and Cassy was by herself near the lemons. She was eating on her own and her health had made a fantastic recovery.

She seemed to take better care of herself when I wasn’t around. I was glad to see her eating, but I only wished she’d do it when her health really needed it, too!
