bandicam 2015-01-07 21-07-18-723 copyI was so proud of Clarise for getting this kit for me but, not long after, she nearly did wall-bonk herself into a coma. Ahhh…. Oh well.

I lead Jonathan downstairs to learn more expressive words and soon enough, he learned everything that the machines could teach him. Next thing I knew, Jonathan was now 23 minutes old and was starting to shape up into a obedient little norn.

bandicam 2015-01-07 21-39-43-372 copyAfter a while, I brought Clarise back down to Jonathan and since becoming a Child, Clarise suddenly became very curious and wanted to put everything in her mouth – toys especially.

bandicam 2015-01-07 21-45-12-703 copyEventually, and I think it was inevitable, the two got into an exhausting slapping fight. After they finally separated, they both looked dead tired. Once they crossed paths again, Jonathan gave Clarise a kiss and they continued to wander the level below the Incubator without rest.

It took some time, but they each spent some time resting. Jonathan didn’t get a chance to fall asleep til much later, but there was some progress made, I think.

bandicam 2015-01-07 21-52-25-415 copyOnce Clarise was an hour old and Jonathan was 40 minutes old, I decided to add a third Norn. I opted for another female. I’ve named her Jenny. She had a bit of a temper for some reason – her angry face seemed to appear for no reason. Anyway, she was taught by the two computers by the incubator and with the help of a nearby Doozer, I was able to teach her a little more vocabulary.

As the three wandered around, trying to eat everything, I started to wonder what I could do about their efforts. Watching them try to stuff tennis balls in their mouth was entertaining and charming at first, but their sad, tired faces were starting to make me upset.

Seems Like Somebody is Always Sick

bandicam 2015-01-08 14-00-10-116 copyGood ol’ Aidan. Every time I see him, I’m just glad he’s up and moving around again. There were a few hours of his life where he’d hardly moved due to some kind of world-glitch but now he’s better.

He’s also quite old, at 9 and a half hours old. Lydia is even older, though.

Of course, the old girl wasn’t about to give me a break.

bandicam 2015-01-08 14-21-29-750 copyI begged her to eat, as usual, and did my best to keep the other creatures away from her. She managed to eat a Parsnip and her health went up for a short while, but it got as low as 36% before she finally decided to eat. This game can be very nerve wracking. She spun helplessly into the glass every time she coughed.

As I tended to Lydia, Opal, despite her old age, managed to get pregnant again. This meant I had two norns I had to keep healthy and well fed. Lucky for me, Opal was at least cooperative when it came to feeding.

Lydia managed to eat more off-screen and as her body fought Antigen 4 she slept. When her body had won that battle, I was finally free to let Opal and David visit her.

bandicam 2015-01-08 14-37-49-443 copyOnce Lydia started her recovery and Opal laid her egg, it was time to make my rounds, which was very simple. Aidan was picking carrots in the swamp by the tree and all the other norns were on the island.

Hopefully, nobody on the island would get sick. Getting everyone else sick would be an absolute tragedy.

Our First Eggs!

bandicam 2015-01-04 22-33-36-599 copyAt 53 minutes old, Synergy was our oldest norn, and 30 minutes ahead of Adelphos, our oldest male. This meant no babies yet, but yes, we might have babies soon.

I took a quick look around to see how everyone was doing and found that everyone was in good health. Chang was by the Empathic vendor with Olga, who wouldn’t stop kissing him. Adelphos in the meantime was relaxing by the Heater that I’d installed in the lowest level of the Meso. That extra dose of coldness didn’t do him any harm, but he was pretty uncomfortable for a little while.

bandicam 2015-01-04 22-39-17-149 copyJust a short while after making my rounds, it was time to introduce another little one. Amazing how the time just flies by, isn’t it?

This is Spike, another male who didn’t get to be a father during the live event. I do love that pretty blue shade on him, though.

By now, everyone was able to take care of themself and were even happy to offer good advice to little Spike. He didn’t often listen to it, but at least their hearts were in the right place. After some help from me and some gentle nudging from the other norns, Spike was set to go.

bandicam 2015-01-04 22-54-13-031 copyAbout 57 minutes into her life, Olga became pregnant! Good for her! The father is Adelphos, the only male old enough to be the father so far. Soon enough, an egg was waiting for us in the ocean. Then, as that egg was laid, Synergy became pregnant! Again, the father was Adelphos. He’s certainly getting a head start on things! With two eggs in our clutch, the second Generation was starting to get a foothold.

bandicam 2015-01-04 22-54-52-637 copyWith all that eggy nonsense out of the way, it was time to introduce the next baby. This time, Drake, one of the winners of the run! This little guy has the same genetics as all the others though – the updated genomes for the winners won’t be a part of this little run.

There was such a large group huddle around the elevator on the middle level of the Meso that Drake had no trouble finding food, company or advice so I let the others raise him for me. Already, he was making friends with our oldest girl, Synergy and was learning to rest like a survival champ. Hopefully, he’d have the same success here as he did in the run.

Creatures 2 – Trying Again

Untitled-1 copyToday is a big day for me – it’s the day I finally got Creatures 2 working on this machine. And of course, what better way to celebrate than with some dumb-as-manky Creatures?

For this run, I decided not to play with Nova Subterra or Canny genomes and instead just pop in a Goldy from the default genomes. I had no idea what gender my norn would be but I wasn’t disappointed when I found that I’d hatched a girl.

bandicam 2015-01-07 20-09-30-477 copyMeet Clarise. There wasn’t a doubt in my mind that she’d start the game by wall-bonking herself into a coma, but I was pleasantly surprised when she actually sat down by the computer and learned all her verbs.

It didn’t take long for me to find out how obedient she was, either. Still, I dreaded OHSS and tried to enjoy the time I spent with her now, while she was still open to learning.

bandicam 2015-01-07 20-35-52-800 copyWe moved on to the next learning computer and she was basically good to go. It would be up to the Doozers and I to teach her anything more. Speaking of, I did have to discipline her when she refused to rest. A quick nap had her feeling better soon, though. I like to think she’ll forgive me.

Once she was about 20 minutes old, I hatched the next egg.

Well, I have a bunch of breeds installed and want to try the more intelligent genomes, but I’d like to see where it all started first. He didn’t sit still quite so much as Clarise did in her early, early life but high energy does not a bad norn make.

I eventually had to deliver some tough-love to his rump before he sat still long enough to fall asleep. He didn’t look pleased with me, but a big grin on his face after his nap told me he was going to be alright.
