Travelling Treehuggers

Surely you guys remember Jim and Andrea from… well. A while ago now. Right?

Yup. I’m back in business!

That said, our two Treehuggers now have a much bigger area to explore. It seemed like they were more comfortable living in the Norn Terrarium and soon Andrea was pregnant.bandicam 2013-09-16 16-36-10-092It seemed like soon I would have my first baby to send to Norn_XXL. Soon, a little cow-marked egg appeared. Then another egg appeared and hatched while I made a sandwich.

Once I packed the little ones away, their mother and father decided it would be a good idea to try cliff diving from the second floor of the Norn Terrarium and followed with slap fighting. Oh my. :C

bandicam 2013-09-16 17-07-23-328I separated them but soon they were slapping each other again. Oh dear. :C Andrea actually came out of the fight with woundedness so I thought it best to separate them for a short while. Maybe next time Jim will be in a more favorable mood. :C

Treehugger Trade

Whoo it’s been getting hotter and hotter and I’m really suffering from all this warmth. While playing Creatures doesn’t keep my cool (the computer warms the room ever so minutely) it does help me keep distracted but lately I’ve just been unable to drum up the energy to get up and go to the PC, especially after cleaning and starting my new workout regiment.

bandicam 2013-09-03 14-44-11-390That said, I do miss playing Creatures and Norn XXL offered to start trading creatures with me! How nice! I sent him two norns after he sent me my two and out of the .zip I got two educated Generation 1 Treehugger Norns. At this point, they were both about 29 or 30 minutes old.

They seemed to be doing well in the Meso but I decided to add Terra: Reborn and even set up a rose bush to grow in the Spring. Things were going great and the norns ate happily. There was doom lurking around the corner, though.

bandicam 2013-09-04 10-15-19-765Before long, there was a pair of banshee grendels in the Workshop. I activated Creature Crossbreeding so maybe, if the Grendels are feeling favorable, they’ll end up making friends with the Treehuggers or making interesting offspring.

The two grendels didn’t seem to know that they could leave via the door up top so I headed back to Terra.

I found the two Treehuggers huddled around the heater I placed after they complained about the cold. They had toys all around them and the rose bush was in bloom. There was a lull in activity from the norns so I opted to check on the Grendels. I found that soon our little lull might be interrupted.

New Blood in Albia

bandicam 2013-08-06 22-39-14-512Tanner and Valerie looked so tired in their old age and their white hair was definitely showing. Even Valerie’s eye lashes were silver now!

Valerie stuck to the island and Tanner to the temple but this was typical of them. Grentilda still kept them company. Time seemed to be running out for them and, though they were in good health, they slowed down and didn’t seem so interested in exploration anymore. Tanner stayed in the temple, likely reflecting on his younger days and Valerie enjoyed a vacation touring the island’s caves.

With these two on their own, enjoying old age, it was time to introduce the offspring I opted to keep.

Meet Neo. He has his Mother’s face and arms and his Father’s everything else. I chose to give him this name due to his strange self-given name. eoeo sounded enough like Neo.

You probably don’t remember, but this little boy has the ‘languish when sleepy’ gene. He’s had a chance to sleep already and was showered with praise so I can only hope that this has helped prevent him from feeling miserable when he gets bags under the eyes.

So far, he’s a good eater but he spends most of his time laying down, probably due to his mutation. He also can’t seem to hold his attention on any one thing, which is very disheartening. He’s still learned the names of some things and it took him a long time to learn verbs but he’s still doing well so far, taking his mutations into consideration.

bandicam 2013-08-06 23-47-30-465I opted to teach this little girl all of her verbs before giving her a name and then, just as we covered the last verb, Grentilda and Neo appeared through the teleporter. It took a little while to separate the group but I did it and the little lady polished off a honey pot all by herself. Apparently, Grentilda taught her my name (mommy) and she quickly learned the name for toys and food. So far, so good.

Teenage PearlMaids

I thought it would be fun to break form for a little while and put each of the Pearlmaids through the classic IQ test. I locked and unlocked the doors accordingly and set them all in the bottom of the Docking Station Workshop.

bandicam 2013-07-18 06-51-12-389Peter was the first in the hallway but Bibian blew past him and made it into the Meso first. Peter soon followed, then Bonrou, both of whom had become adults in the hallway. Trevor was next but got preoccupied looking at a door and Finny, now an adult, was at the bottom of the Workshop, pushing the norn puppet. I asked Finny ‘what’ and he seemed to snap out of his trance and head  for the elevator. While I waited for Finny and Trevor to catch up, I moved the other 3 adults into Aquanornia.

It wasn’t long before Bonrou fathered three of Bibian’s children and, though she barely made it, she managed to lay all three eggs on land.

I had less good news for Finny and Trevor, though. Finny couldn’t seem to stop ‘approach elevator’ and Trevor seemed obsessed with the door. Finally, after Finny made it into the hall, Trevor did what started to seem impossible and made it through the door. With the death music getting ready to play, I started to fear the worst. Now all there was left was Finny.

He seemed to follow Trevor but passed anyway. Now, it was a matter of keeping everyone alive in this migration world.
