DCFThanks again to everyone who made the first stream possible by contribuing so many creatures! On the first day, we started with 32 imports! Hooray!

The stream is still going with a full population and, as of writing this, 34 eggs! Amazing! Remember to keep your creatures coming!

DCFbuttonIf you’d like to support the stream, you can do so by sharing this button in your signature, on your website or blog, or anywhere you like. 😀

See you in the stream!

More trees! These stumps are standing and are the perfect home for shelf mushrooms. Could also make suitable graveyard and swamp decorations!

I decided against spriting myself right now because I really want to get on making patch plants. Part of the reason I’ve added these decorations is so that I had something to put mea’s lovely shelf mushrooms on.

Wish me luck!

Three totally unrelated blog posts in one day!? Well, why not.

Today things are slowing down and I’ve got a migratory wolfling run in the works and in the stream. I’m just sort of playing around with the world now and there aren’t any strict rules or anything but I’ve made some changes.

For starters, the music has been changed to use Creatures 3 event music (death, near death, birth, etc). I’ve also decided to make two worlds. A migratory world and a docked world. The migratory world is successfully encouraging creatures to move around and the docked world has creatures sticking to the Norn Meso with only a few of the more intrepid explorers actually moving out. I’m not sure how to remedy this except by killing the entire ecosystem and hand-placing seasonal food sources but… that’s a lot of work. XD If you have any tips on how to achieve this, send me a PM at Creature Caves or an email at kezune_twitch@hotmail.com.

The daily stream hasn’t formally become a -thing- yet but it’s definitely a work in progress. That said, I’m still open to input and I’ve finally compiled that list of breed sprites that I have installed.

Take a gander.

Spoiler Inside SelectShow

Now that you know what breeds I have (or breed slots I’ve got filled) please go ahead and start sending creatures over to kezune_twitch@hotmail.com. I haven’t recieved any creatures yet but would like to have at least 10 before I make the announcement that I’m doing a daily stream. I’m exclusively playing with Norns right now but I’m definitely open to other breeds and am even willing to make different IQ testing rooms for each species.

Give me your ideas, all of them, even little ones and I’ll see what I can do to improve the stream and the worlds featured therein.

And I love it.

It works like other Autonamers (it only names creatures that don’t have names) except that instead of giving them ‘proper’ names or even goofy names, it gives them names based on their species, gender and generation.

Here are some examples.

bandicam 2013-12-11 22-43-37-043This little boy is named NoM0002. No means he’s a Norn, M means he’s male and 0002 shows what generation he is.

bandicam 2013-12-11 23-24-12-801This little girl is named GrF0208. Gr means she’s a Grendel, F means she’s female and 0208 shows what generation she is.

Why is this useful? It’s useful if you have an automatic exporter on and want to be able to tell at a glance what kind of creature it is and how far down the family tree it is while you’re in your My Creatures folder.

It’s also nice to have if you want to name creatures without having to worry about getting attached to them.

Feel free to expand on this agent if you like! I’ve included the .cos file for your tinkering pleasure. It’s based on the original autonamer.

Enjoy!

Psst! Ideas for expansion? Add letters to identify what order the creatures hatched in. Have fun!
