bandicam 2015-04-11 18-59-57-226 copyMallory just couldn’t seem to eat. Between Grub stealing her food out of her hands, Perry distracting her and the lift capturing everyone and taking them for rides, Mallory just got hungrier and hungrier. I got sick of waiting for all the other creatures to move or leave her alone and did something not usually like me. I exported her and reimported her. This put her in the house but the girl was still stubborn about eating. It wasn’t until after she pushed the spinning top a few times that she would finally eat.

bandicam 2015-04-11 19-05-38-437 copyWith her health finally recovering, I decided to hatch an egg. This time, one of the eggs I kept below the garden. This time, the baby would be male, which would give the older boys some competition. This little male would be younger than all the females and boy was he cute. I decided to name him Hoss.

Of course, not one to be forgotten, Peony became pregnant as soon as I started Hoss’ lessons. I decided to leave her on her own since she started her pregnancy with very high health and Hoss was nearly through with his lessons anyway. He was fed, given a toy, and I tried to lull him to sleep.

bandicam 2015-04-11 19-14-36-309 copyFinally, I could make time for Peony, who was at the very end of her pregnancy. A short trip below the ocean had her back below the Grendel tree. She began to starve but a toy and a carrot seemed to have pushed her health back up a bit. I was worried because she hadn’t yet laid her egg, but her improving health had me optimistic again. And it seemed she had that carrot just in time, too! Beside surviving to have her egg, she was also startin to recover just after pregnancy, which isn’t typical. Unfortunately, she also laid down to nap right in front of her egg, preventing me from scooping it up right away. Oh well. I can come back.

We were finally down to just 9 norns left in the group. I still had about 2 hours of play time left with them and was dying for ways to make it all more interesting. For now, I moved everyone back into C1 to DS, but this time by the bees. The poor bees. The norns took to eating all their honey right away. As they munched and slurped, I tried to come up with something.

bandicam 2015-04-10 19-27-33-020 copyAster became pregnant while I strugged for ideas. I gave them a Bandicoot box but they weren’t interested. I placed botanoids but, again, the norns were uninterested. Eventually, Spurius passed away. The area was so crowded that I actually had to move norns and agents out of the way before I could see him. He hardly moved in his last hour or so, but he was very comfortable.

Another pregnancy happened around the same time and this time, it was Fidget’s. The ladies aren’t done yet, I suppose! Because of the lack of toys, I decided to give them a beach ball. Hopefully, this would give them more to do than play with the jukebox (which didn’t sound bad at all!), eat and rest! I could just imagine what boredom the creatures were feeling if I was bored. 😛

bandicam 2015-04-10 19-43-30-965 copyAnai was the next taken away by the Sparkle Reaper. In the stream, she only survived for 8 minutes after chasing a ball into the Volcano. It was nice to see her do so well in a different setting. Beside that, she was also mother to many, many eggs this time around. I was happy to see her do so well.

I tried to get the remaining group to use the lifts to leave the area but they didn’t seem interested in leaving. I got to thinking the CAs might not have been placed. Still, with Room Edits no longer working in my world, I wasn’t likely to find out. I moved everyone again to the area between the temple and the grendel tree. There still wasn’t much travel and now, Stain even repeated “Stain dislike norn”. I didn’t have a clue who he meant, but he wasn’t in any hurry to leave the group.

bandicam 2015-04-10 20-06-29-364 copyVerax was the next to go and quietly passed away in his sleep. Flame and Stane might have been arguing and, but Verax didn’t have the time for it.

The others were spread out all over Albia now. Fidget was closest to the house and was eating carrots. By the scarecrow was Mese, the only boy not still at the swamp. Aster snoozed by the lemons and Delia napped next to the Gentian. Every few minutes, I dropped food near the two boys in the swamp in an effort to get them to inch closer to the house, but didn’t have any luck. Flame hardly moved at all and Stain didn’t travel far from Flame.

Shbandicam 2015-04-10 12-16-34-848 copye didn’t even fall ill before she died. At 9 hours, 7 minutes, I thought her death was premature but Cassy was a difficult eater towards the end and pregnancies always seemed very hard on her. Her health even sat at a nice 60%. It wasn’t great, but it wasn’t awful, either.

The good news is that she’s survived by many eggs. They may have taken a toll on her, but I’m sure she’d be happy knowing she had so many children.

bandicam 2015-04-10 12-22-20-957 copySpeaking of having children, Mallory had a following of norns and a grendel by her side. It seemed like everyone was excited to see her egg. In fact, I guess Peony felt left out and decided to have an egg of her own, too! I now had two pregnant norns on my hands and this had me doubly excited. Perry, our excited, and happy father paced back and forth as Mallory started to lay her egg and add it to our impressive collection. Out popped this little blue thing and soon I was focusing on Peony. Including the egg Peony would soon have, we had 11 on our hands now. That’s a lot! Finally, she laid her egg and it joined the others.

Of course, I had to start thinking about introducing a new baby to the world. I could hatch one of the existing eggs or add a generation 1 baby. The gender ratio was pretty even so it really didn’t matter what I chose, in that regard. One thing was clear, though. I had to get some food in Mallory’s belly. Her health dipped as low as mid 30%!

bandicam 2015-04-10 18-22-25-311 copyThe moment I loaded the game to blog, Kerplunk succumbed to old age. He lived a pretty cozy life! Surrounded by friends and food, it would have been difficult for anyone to argue that he didn’t lead a happy and healthy norn life.

I wouldn’t have expected any less from one of the stream’s winners, either.

The numbers have thinned quite a bit since I started this project in January. Now, we only had 4 adults out of our 11 surviving norns and not a single one was younger than 2 and a half hours. Not very surprising given I introduced each of them at 15 minute intervals.

While I waited for something to happen, I decided to take a look at some metarooms. The truth was, I was burnt out from this group and wanted to try something new. With Creatures 2 completely cleared from my schedule, I wanted something to fill the gap, but not C2toDS. Instead, I wanted to try another gimmick world similar to my queen pearlmaid world from a while back. I have to say, Artemia Sea looks like an attractive world to play in, too.

bandicam 2015-04-10 18-35-54-026 copyStill, that’s planning for the future and probably doesn’t have a place in this post. I’ll come up with something. As I fiddled with other ideas, Logic passed away. He had a habit of exploring the other areas in C2toDS but here, he seemed to stick to his fellow Creature more. There was nothing wrong with that, and he made some friends in the process.

bandicam 2015-04-10 18-44-37-815 copyBecause nothing was happening, I decided to move everyone into the Grendel Terrarium, up on a bridge where there was no food. There was food in the lower levels, but the norns still had to travel down to get it. Basically, I just wanted tehm to move around a little.

And what happens? Fidget runs to the right and falls down. She usually smiled, but she wasn’t so happy after that unpleasant dive. Still, she survived and was happy to explore a little.

Many of the norns hadn’t moved since their relocation. I assumed it’s because their lives had become so easy. Not having to look for food made them lazy and they seemed to expect food when they felt hunger. I found this a little annoying and I guessed this contributed to their lack of exploration. To get them moving again, I placed food just outside of their reach so that they still had to get up and reach it. It seemed to work for some but others, like Flame and Spurius preferred to lie where they were.

bandicam 2015-04-10 19-12-16-033 copyPeri was the next norn to pass away. Again, old age was the cause. Just as most of the others, she led a happy and healthy existence. This didn’t make for exciting blogging, but at least all of the creatures were happy. Aster kept Peri company in her final moments. Then, as soon as Peri passed on, Aster rejoined the group. Maybe she just knew Peri was on her way out?
