bandicam 2015-04-10 18-22-25-311 copyThe moment I loaded the game to blog, Kerplunk succumbed to old age. He lived a pretty cozy life! Surrounded by friends and food, it would have been difficult for anyone to argue that he didn’t lead a happy and healthy norn life.

I wouldn’t have expected any less from one of the stream’s winners, either.

The numbers have thinned quite a bit since I started this project in January. Now, we only had 4 adults out of our 11 surviving norns and not a single one was younger than 2 and a half hours. Not very surprising given I introduced each of them at 15 minute intervals.

While I waited for something to happen, I decided to take a look at some metarooms. The truth was, I was burnt out from this group and wanted to try something new. With Creatures 2 completely cleared from my schedule, I wanted something to fill the gap, but not C2toDS. Instead, I wanted to try another gimmick world similar to my queen pearlmaid world from a while back. I have to say, Artemia Sea looks like an attractive world to play in, too.

bandicam 2015-04-10 18-35-54-026 copyStill, that’s planning for the future and probably doesn’t have a place in this post. I’ll come up with something. As I fiddled with other ideas, Logic passed away. He had a habit of exploring the other areas in C2toDS but here, he seemed to stick to his fellow Creature more. There was nothing wrong with that, and he made some friends in the process.

bandicam 2015-04-10 18-44-37-815 copyBecause nothing was happening, I decided to move everyone into the Grendel Terrarium, up on a bridge where there was no food. There was food in the lower levels, but the norns still had to travel down to get it. Basically, I just wanted tehm to move around a little.

And what happens? Fidget runs to the right and falls down. She usually smiled, but she wasn’t so happy after that unpleasant dive. Still, she survived and was happy to explore a little.

Many of the norns hadn’t moved since their relocation. I assumed it’s because their lives had become so easy. Not having to look for food made them lazy and they seemed to expect food when they felt hunger. I found this a little annoying and I guessed this contributed to their lack of exploration. To get them moving again, I placed food just outside of their reach so that they still had to get up and reach it. It seemed to work for some but others, like Flame and Spurius preferred to lie where they were.

bandicam 2015-04-10 19-12-16-033 copyPeri was the next norn to pass away. Again, old age was the cause. Just as most of the others, she led a happy and healthy existence. This didn’t make for exciting blogging, but at least all of the creatures were happy. Aster kept Peri company in her final moments. Then, as soon as Peri passed on, Aster rejoined the group. Maybe she just knew Peri was on her way out?
