Also, as usual, please judge my work harshly. I want to improve my videos so that you can have a better viewing experience. 🙂
Little Danny must have known that everyone was on the island because he decided to make his way there by himself.
Intrepid little guy! As soon as he arrived I had to do my best to get him to sleep, though. Oh well. At 23 minutes old, he grew up to the next stage. I watched him play with the lifts for a little while before checking on the others.
As usual, there was a mob next to the wagon at the lowest level of the island. I decided to see if that would sort itself out. Lydia was by herself, snoozing and shivering next to a small pile of carrots I’d set out for her and Bobby was resting near the herbs by the temple. Even Grub made it into view at the lowest level of the temple, eating darkling carrots.
As Bobby made his way into the house and warmed himself by the fire, I wondered what it was about the island that the norns found so attractive. Eventually, I put a hootch vendor on the island, just for laughs.
I eventually led Lydia away from her nook while the other Norns all got to know each other on the island. It was starting to get old visiting this place all the time, but it’s where everyone wanted to be. Well. Except Lydia and Bobby.
Cassy was the first to leave the island of her own volition. When she got back… well. Things could have gone better. She ate a bunch of carrots and when she met with Bobby, they had a short slapping fight. Apparently, they’d patched things up because soon she was pregnant!
In true norn fashion, she got pregnant and immediately ran for the Death Cap mushroom. Classic.
Not long after this miracle (the miracle being getting her away from the darn thing after a fight with the lifts), I saw lemons flying across the screen. Sadly, as soon as her egg is laid, it might be time for another soft reset.
Gracious me, Synergy is 2 hours old. According to previous experience, and this convenient wiki entry here, that means she only has three and a half hours to live. I might not have enough time to introduce all the other babies before she passes away! Before I get caught up in that, though, let’s bring in our next little one. That said, we have 15 eggs now and about half are hers.
Ahh, Dark Cat! I was wondering when we’d see one of the stranger looking creatures. I have to admit, he was one of my favorites when the run was on. I guess I just like unusual things.
Almost immediately, he made his way into the Medical bay, then into the Shee Ark’s main corridor then into the Grendel Jungle.
Unfortunately, my vigil wavered and an egg hatched before the timer set up I had could catch it. It might be time to shorten the wait, I think. I named the little thing “1” and set it aside for later. No spoilers, not even its gender!
After more of the usual (slapping, kissing, more eggs) it was time to introduce another baby. Lin would be our newest addition. I’d actually forgotten about this little lady, but I decided not to dwell on it. A few of the norns were finally starting to explore, including agoraphobic Synergy. To my knowledge, she hadn’t left the Meco since her lonesome experience. Til now, anyway.
Beside her, Dark Cat was exploring the Norn Terrarium. When I spotted him, he was taking the lifts up to the top and Synergy came in the bottom door. Perhaps she was ready to stretch her legs.
Meanwhile, the other norns stayed in the Meso. Chang didn’t seem to like Daedalus and Drake wasn’t doing a great job of making friends. He’d started slapping Chang and Daedalus but Chang was stubborn enough to defend himself. They got into something of a slapping fight but since they weren’t doing serious damage, I didn’t put too much effort into stopping them.
I’d made my rounds and fed everyone and found that, besides the fight with Drake, the other norns were healthy and generally pretty happy.
The three continued to put toys in their mouth for a short while and as they did, I wondered if I should lead them to the foresty area. I couldn’t do much exploring myself since I was basically tethered to each of the little darlings, but I was still planning to nab the rest of the gameplay power ups.
Because his location was convenient, I took Jonathan up to the bridge leading to the new area. He was still drowsy, not having an opportunity to sleep since he and the girls started trying to eat toys, but he marched on. I should note that I was happy to let him rest, but he looked like he wanted to just get it over with.
He made his way to the waterfall and enjoyed a quick rest by the telescope before moving on.
He nearly drowned in this shallow pond but when I came to his rescue, he had a new lady friend. I’ve named her Bella (Magic School Bus, anyone?). Unfortunately, she didn’t last long. I took her down in a lift after forgetting that Frog Norns die if taken too far from their pond.
Eventually, I was able to lure him around to get two more power ups. When he got the Advanced Science Kit I had to act quickly, though. He was a star at pushing implements but he basically flung himself into the Volcano. I was able to use PickMeUp just in time to keep him from colliding with the ground.
Jenny, the youngest female, was the first to get sick. She didn’t infect any of the other norns and she was fine after some honey and a Tomato. Thankfully, the problem wasn’t worse.
Clarise was the next norn I took on an adventure. I’d spotted the Neuroscience kit and got her to collect it for me after lots and lots of struggling.
Unfortunately, I didn’t know a thing about creature brains so while it’s nice for the sake of completion, the kit did nothing practical for me. Still, to celebrate our return to the incubation area, where the other two Norns were, Clarise decided to have an egg.
After it was laid, I scooped the tiny thing up and put it in a basket. With that, I thought I should add another male. Things were certainly starting to get crowded in the incubator area, but the Norns that were already here might be able to help teach whoever I hatched next.
